OMG I seriously can't get rid of the rust stains in our toilet. I've tried sooo many cleaners and some do work but they leave drip marks. Anybody have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA METHOD: Mix vinegar and baking soda in a non-plastic bowl (or other non-plastic container)with enough baking soda to make a VERY thick paste. Be careful, it fizzes, so don't fill the bowl to the top.

Hi K.,
They sell a scrubbing block at the grocery store. It's almost like an emory board for your fingernails. You scrub the stains with it. Buy a pair of gloves, and start scrubbing. :)

The Works toilet bowl cleaner will take them out. I have a lot of iron in my water, which causes everything to turn yellow. I was about to chuck the white toilet and shower until my friend told me she uses The Works to clean everything. It works! Just put it in the toilet at night, scrub the stains and leave the cleaner sit in the toilet overnight. Flush it before anyone uses it. The stains should be gone :) I use an antibacterial cleaner on the toilet after I flush The Works. It works really great on rust stains in the shower too. If you use it for that, just make sure your bathroom is well ventilated and you wear gloves.

Get a pumice stone (made specifically for toilets and other bath fixtures) and scrub it out. No chemicals, just good 'ol elbow grease!

You can get The Works at the dollar store! Who knew something so cheap was so effective! I had tried everything until I was told about The Works. Even works on my old grout. We live in an old farm house with tiny tile on the bathroom floor. The grout was disgusting. I accidentally spilled some by the toilet and when I went to clean it up, it left a clean spot. Now I just use a toothbrush and get it even whiter.

I've used CLR and it does really work, although you may have to scrub a little. I also have used pumice stone and that works on some stains.

Good luck!

Try the Lysol POWER toilet bowl cleaner with lime and rust remover. It's in the BLACK labeled bottle (make sure you get the one with the black label). It worked miracles for me. Squeeze in on, let it soak for about 10 minutes, then brush and flush. It works!

Iron Out. Use with good ventilation though because once the powder hits water, it smells very bad and can get into your lungs. I does work though.

There is also an amazing product called CLR (for Calcium, Lime, Rust) that works wonders, it just has to have time to soak. Good luck! I hate that look of the rust in the toilets too!
