Double stroller where seats face ea. other?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone may know of a double stroller where you can turn the front seat around to face the other (or not) that DOES NOT have stadium seating??? So that when they are facing each other they can see each other. Is there such a thing?? OR maybe some type of wagon that could hold a 21/2 yr old as well as 7mo. old?? Thanks for any ideas.\
Kathleen

Here's a stroller:

I found this wagon online. A friend of mine has it and her kids love it. She started out with the younger one in a Bumbo inside the wagon to help him not fall over:

I was browsing through the catalog One Step Ahead and saw one. It's really versatile and now that I'm looking at it, I may consider this one when our 2nd is born in April!

THey have a new double stroller at Babies R Us that does just that. It's made by Kolcraft. It's really cool, they can face eachother, sit stadium or you can even take one of the seat out and use it as a single stroller. There is an animated link at Babies R Us that shows you it's features. Mind you, I did not read the reviews, but it looks great! http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2646209

However, if you want something much more lightweight and manageable you may want to look at the Joovy Caboose. It's a sit and stand stroller for the older child (does have a belt to secure them). It's much smaller than a double stroller and my son loves to ride on the back. My oldest was just shy of 2 1/2 when my second was born and it's been great! A friend has the Baby Trend sit n stand which is what they sell at One Step Ahead and it's great too but much, much bigger and bulkier.

Sounds like a pretty ideal stroller; haven't found one like that. However, my girls (2.5 and 10 months) love their Red Radio Flyer Wagon! Their are flip up back supports and cup holders and safety belts to clip them in. The younger one does great in it!

Wow! I used to have one of these 20+ years ago when the double strollers were just coming out and all of them were either side by side or tandem. We found ours at Sears and it gave the 1.5 yr. old plenty of leg room. As the boys grew, they never had to fight for legroom and enjoyed playing w/each other face to face. You might have luck at the resale places where someone may have previously owned one of the strollers you're looking for. Also places online like http://craigslist.org for secondhand strollers in excellent condition.
A lot of the tendem ones are now able to be moved into a face to face seating but IMO the leg room isn't there and I see a lot of kicking competing for leg space though.
As an idea, as our family grew, we found that the inexpensive Radio Flyer wagon w/removable sides worked even better for us as we could haul an infant seat on it and several kids could sit on the sides of the wagon. It had many uses over the years but fit in a car trunk excellently. We were young and developed good upper arm stregnth. LOL.
Good luck,
Dawn

I saw one at Babies R US in Glen Burnie it looked nice and reasonable priced. I was thinking about getting it myself.

I found this link on the web when I was looking...don't know much about it but you can turn the seats for the kids to face each other.

Hope the link works if not, go to kolcraft and click on double strollers, it's the red one.

Kathleen - there is such a thing or was.... My boys are now 8 & 10 but I had one when they were younger that they faced each other. It was great as they liked being able to see each other and big brother could help little brother. I know at the time I purchased it at Target. Good luck - its well worth the looking for it!

I have the kolcraft contours.Excellent versitility. They have it on walmart, target or babiesrus website.I got mine at walmart. Just beacuse it is hard to find in stores, and they would deliver to the walmart of your choice of free.Love this stroller!Check it out!

Hi there, I think I just saw one of those from One Step Ahead. They are a catalog and website. I think BuyBuy Baby may also have them now. I had noticed them because I thought it was perhaps a much better solution than the two abreast or stadium style.

Good luck,
Camille F.

PS. Here is the one at Buy Buy Baby it looks pretty cool http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14992642&RN=7032&

Hi,
I have only seen one stroller like that, I think they carry it at Target for around $180: Eddie Bauer® Bryant Two-Way Tandem Stroller, there are several side by side strollers around like this one:(http://www.ecmdstore.com/product/ProductDetail.aspx?product=15759&category=519)
Your older one might like wagons better, but my experience is that kids don't understand until about they are about 15 month old that they can not stand up or climb out of a moving wagon, so you'll need some kind of restraining system for the little one. Here is a shortcut to a fun, but more expensive wagon, they also have cheaper ones: http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1370 Also watch the sales at Toysrus, Walmart and Target.
Good luck and have fun,
Pien

Yes, I saw one at Wal-Mart.com.

I dont' know of a stroller like that, and I would advise against the ones that are sitting side by side. (You can't get anywhere in those except outdoors. It won't fit in many doors or aisles.)

You can definitely do the wagon in the next few months. I do that with my 2 1/2 and 13 month old. We have been doing that for about 3 months.

We love our radio flyer wagon. It has seatbelts and seatbacks. Depending on your 7 month-olds stability he/she may not be strong enough to sit safely until like 10 months old--unless you use something to prop him/her up on the sides.

Burlington Coat Factory-Baby Depot has a double stroller where the front and rear seat face each other. I don't think they pivot or turn, but they do have a double that faces each other. I found it in the Burlington-Baby Depot in Waldorf Md. Good Luck-Connie

Hi Kathleen,

I'm not really sure about the strollers but I have a wagon that we got my oldest son for his 2nd birthday. He is now 5 and he still loves going for rides in the wagon, especially with his baby brother who is 22 months. It is one of the new, sturdy plastic Radio Flyer Wagons. It has 2 seats both with seat belts. My younger son has been going for rides in it since he was able to sit comfortably on his own. Two of my neighbors just got their 2 year olds Step 2 wagons for Christmas and while the seats are somewhat deeper than the Radio Flyer wagon, the wagon itself is not as long so there's more chance for knocking knees. As far as strollers go, I don't have a double stroller so I'm not positive but I'd check graco.com, babiesrus.com or onestepahead.com. Hope this helps!!!

Per Perego makes a stroller where the seats face each other. I am not sure if they turn around or not. I know Great Beginnings in Gaithersburg, MD has one you can look at.

I have two different cosco strollers, i know one is an eddie bauer, both have seats that face each other or away. It is extremely easy to switch, I have done it in the middle of the mall at times when my two aren't getting along. I also can set my newborn's carrier in the back when needed. I think you should be able to get a new one for under 200, mine were both yard sale finds for 20 each and still have a lot of use in them.

We have the Baby Trend Sit-n-Stand. My kids are 2 years apart. You can snap in the infant carrier unto the front seat and the older child can sit or stand in the back. It's incredible! Toys-R-Us sold them, but I think you can also find them on OneStepAhead.com.
