Advise on Dr. Prescription

I took my 10 year old son to the doctor with symptoms including a soar throat and stuffy nose. The nurse did a quick strep test that came back negative. When the doctor came in he said it was probably his sinuses. He looked in his ears and found them to be normal. Then he looked in his throat and said that he was going to prescribe him singulair and zyrtec because he felt that my son has allergies and not a virus. This just sounds fishy to me. Staterra and Concerta`

Hi, my 10 year old son has been on Straterra 40mg for over 2 years, now that he is getting older and more mature, it seems to wear off around 5-6 pm and having a hard time sitting still in school and paying attention. The dr. yesterday put him on concerta 27mg.. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this ADHD drug Concerta and any info will help thanks-J.

What Chores Do You Require of a 12 Year Old?

My dd is busy outside of school with sports practice 3 days/week and we are usually gone on the weekends. I haven't required a whole lot of chores of my kids because I'm a stay at home mom and I actually prefer to do most myself (I'm pretty picky about laundry and I have lots of breakables when cleaning). But, it probably would be good to give my 12 yo some chores just so she's trained to do certain things. What do you give your pre-teen for chorse?
