Most Useful New Infant Item You had...please share...especially Preemie Parents

So my SIL gave birth VERY early last week..at 30.5 weeks gestation. My niece weighed in at 2 lbs, 1 oz. She has done miraculously..no vent the whole time, no emergencies and while she has not gained any weight yet, she is maintaining her birth weight at this point. She looks wonderful...even a full head of hair! I thought fat and hair grew last?? She is a tiny little spectacular miracle! She will be needing some selections of preemie clothes, and other such things. But I am wondering what were the most useful things you had for Preemies...

Q Re: Angel Care Sleep Monitors

I am about to get an Angel Care sleep monitor and I've heard mostly great things about it. My only concern is that during the summer months my hubby and I have fans going in our bedroom and sometimes even the A/C. I've heard that the monitor is so sensative that even a fan blowing at the crib can register as baby movement and so defeats the purpose. Has anyone else had this experience and if so how do you deal with the hot summer months? I want to keep my baby cool and I don't want to sweat to death, either! I was thinking perhaps we...

When to Transition to Pillow & Blanket?

My 15 month old loves pillows and blankets. At what age are they appropriate/recommended for night-time sleep? At night she is usually in a sleep sack so I am not worried about warmth, just her comfort versus my fear of her smuthering herself. Am I being too paranoid?
