I just pulled a full grey hair out of my head! about 8 inches of a grey. I am 22 years old I mean I knew they were there but really the whole hair!

I dye my hair to cover them guess I missed this one. SEVERAL times.

How early did you start to notice your greys? Beings you cannot judge age by this process of hair color change. (btw the first one I seen was at age 18.

What can I do next?

I was in my early twenties, but my grandfather (the last blonde in the family) went white by 30 so I was expecting it.
I don't think you missed the hair, you probably have dye resistant grey. Color never sticks to my grey either. I just color my hair a more ashy blonde color and it blends right in.

The first one I found was small but I was only 28--just after my triplets were born. According to my research, stress cannot cause gray. it is only hereditary. My mom did not have gray until well into her 40s and my dad probably also in his 40s so that kills that. The good things is I have blond hair so I usually see any first.

Well, I'm 32, and I have a really awesome grey streak right from the middle of my forehead, at my hair line, that's about two inches thick and goes all the way down. My hair is very curly, so it's really, really noticeable that I have this huge streak...because overall, it's a different texture as well as a different color.

My husband loves it. I hate it. I was probably about 24 (first child being born) when I noticed my first greys. Now I have hundreds. Well, a streaks worth...probably thousands. I quit dying my hair last year because it wouldn't last over the grey for more than a week or two, and just made it more pronounced.

I stopped pulling out the grey hairs, and now I no longer notice them. When they get longer they just disappear into my hair, but when they are short they stand straight up and demand attention. I don't think I saw my first grey hair until I had my forst baby, so 35.

My sister noticed her first "shiny" hair at 15. My brother's hair was completely white by 30. I started to go grey at 17. I used to color my hair but haven't in about 10 years. In 40 now and my hair is a salt and pepper grey.

I didn't start turning gray until I was 40. My aunt was COMPLETELY gray at 17. One of her granddaughters is just like her - 19 and completely gray.

I would talk with my doctor to find out if there is a test to find out if you have a properly functioning thyroid...or if you have low melanin - that is the natural chemical in our bodies that that gives our hair its natural color.

These "genes" called, Melanocytes only function for a set amount of time. Once they die, the hair without melanin grows out in a transparent shade of gray, silver or white....

You CANNOT 'reverse' gray hair. So don't buy anything that says "you'll never be gray again!" Things that MIGHT help are folic acid and Vitamin B. But they will NOT reverse it....

Hope that helps!!

I started to notice my gray's around 24-25 and by 28 I was dying my hair 2-3 times a year. After my second child (31) I was dying my hair regularly. Now at 38 my hair would be completely white if I didn't color. I knew I would gray early, both my parents were coloring their hair in their early 20's. I agree with Sarah and Robert E (previous poster) you may have color resistant gray, I know I have that issue a lot.

My first full gray hair, I found at 18. I have salt and pepper hair, evenly distributed now, and am grateful for it. I don't care to color my hair, too much maintenance. I don't mind my grays at all. I also cut my hair short....think Halle Berry, Ellen Degeneres.....and that helps. I gel it up at times and it looks kinda cool.

I was pretty much 30 to the day when I noticed something sparkly on my head. I guess I'm lucky (?!) that my grey hair is actually silvery like metal. Perma-glitter!

I have a double cousin (her dad is my dad's brother, her mom is my mom's sister) who was completely gray when she was 18 years old. She stayed gray for years because she never liked how her hair looked when she got it dyed. I saw her a few years ago (she's in her upper 40s), and she had the nicest looking blonde hair I'd ever seen! When I complimented her on it, she said she'd finally found a product that worked on her hair. I mentioned how nice she looked, and she just beamed!

I think gray hairs have something to do with genetics, like baldness (my brother lost all his hair except for a ring around the bottom half of his head when he was 18 years old; so the whole top of his head is bald).

I myself will turn 45 years old at the end of Jan; I noticed a few "gray" hairs in my hair starting last year. Now I'm waiting to see as I get more if I'll have silver hair or white hair! I see "the gray, white, or silver" as a badge of maturity. Hopefully, though, it will be quite a few years yet before I have a full head!

My parents are in their 60's and are only salt and pepper now..and barely. I'm 40 and still have no gray. Hoping I got the good hair genes for life. I stopped coloring my hair several years ago, since I realized I should be thankful that I don't have to yet. I figure I'll use all that money for other things until I really need to do that.
