Around 23!
And they have being getting immune to hair coloring, grrrr!
Lol, yes, that color-intolerant!
EDIT:
Oneandone, I use to like you! (Just kidding)
I first went grey at age 25. I've been coloring religiously because my mom went grey early too and never colored it.
Now I'm way older than 25 and way grayer. It's really odd to feel young and see old hair, which I still of course color religiously, only more often!
Anyway, how old were you when you went grey (and if you didn't yet, I envy you!)
Genetic big time. Thanks Mom. My sister, who is three years older than me, boasts just a few scattered "salt-n-peppers." Grrrr...
@Mamy2: Mine are becoming color-intolerant as well!
@Victoria W: My texture changed, too. Went from very curly to wiry and frizzy :-(

I started noticing when I was about 20. The other day I found a grey pubic hair and freaked out! I'm only 31! hee.
I noticed my first gray this year :( I'm 33.... I was sad and weirded out when I saw it... I've highlighted my hair since 16, but I finally found my gray this year.. BOOOO!
Found my first one at 20, thanks dad!
I'm 48 and I don't see grey yet. (hi-lights probably help! lol)
I remember my grandmother having light brown hair with very few greys into her 70's.
My mom, almost 75, has beautiful dark brown hair -- very little grey. People are always asking where she gets her hair colored because it looks so natural! hahaha
Genetics have a LOT to do with it.
My MIL has been completely gray since her 30's and my husband has a LOT of gray at 50.
I started getting gray hairs right after having my kids. Coincidence? I think not!
i'm right with you.....i was 25 and have been coloring since then. i am way older than 25 now as well. i hate putting all those chemicals on my hair so often. i have been meaning to look into henna or more natural methods..just haven't had a chance to do it yet. my mom also started early... ugh, these genes!!
I think I was about fifteen.
But it runs in the family. On both sides. (My children inherited the genes, too, and they are not amused.)
Happily, it's a nice grey, not an ugly one. So I don't color it. I couldn't afford to, for one thing. Once I asked my regular stylist how many of his clients colored their hair, and he laughed and laughed. He finally said, "The clients who DON'T color their hair I could count on my fingers!"
When I was in my thirties, I had enough grey against my dark brown hair for people to say, "Oh, wow - who frosts your hair?" and I would answer, "God does!"
Now... I don't mind the grey hair (white, really). What I mind is that my face has caught up to it. ;^o
I'm 29. I have no greys yet. My sisters, who are within 3 years of me, have had greys for a while. I'm naturally blonde, so perhaps they just don't show? I haven't colored my hair in many years, and I think my hair is too light for one or two to be noticeable. I got all the recessive genes in my family (everyone else has very dark hair, dark eyes, grey early,) I'm hoping not graying is one of the recessive genes :)
About a year ago when I turned 34. Luckily I only have a couple.
im only 23 and i noticed gray hairs a couple months ago.. now i sware everytime i look i notice more.. im waiting as long as i can to dye it.. i had been highlighting my hair for years and im finally letting all that light blonde hair grow out .. i planned on leaving it natural cuz my hair was so fried.. but now as soon as it grows out enough that i can cut all that blonde out im going to dye it again... i couldve had gray hairs longer than that but with all the highlights i just never noticed
Probably I noticed my very first around age 30, maybe 33? Sometime around the birth of my 2nd child. I stuck with just one, maybe two for several years. I have noticed in the past several years (maybe 3 or so?) that I have gotten noticeably more. I have lighter hair (I was blonde as a young child and it has gotten progressively darker over time, with reddish highlights depending on the season, and how much sunlight I've been exposed to over the summer months), and the dirty brown/blonde/red undertones really let the gray strands blend in fairly well... except when they are at the part in my hair right on the top.
I am 43, and so they really became noticeable to me (and the texture seemed to change more) around my 40th year. I don't color it. I mentioned maybe trying that last year, and my husband said: "Why?"
So I haven't touched it.
I noticed a few silver hairs at about 45. I am 50 now and could find maybe a dozen and they are a pretty silver. I hope to never feel like I have to color my hair.
Just this last year I saw my first one. I'm 31
It was just shortly after I had my daughter at age 37.
I first noticed gray hairs in 2005 (I would have been about 23 years old) when I was working a very very stressful job that I hated. However, once I left that job, my hair stopped going gray until my first child was born. Now, my husband informs me that I am really starting to look old at 30 (he's joking - I hope).
A few greys started coming in my mid-forties. At 55 I still only have a few individual greys here and there except for a 1/2 inch stripe of white on the upper right. My mom is 80 and didn't have noticeable greying til 5-10 years ago.
I found my first few at 26, and my stylist says I'm about 30% gray now at age 41. You'll never see any gray, though! ;)
I'm 36 and noticed 4 long silver strands of hair a few months ago. I was surprised at how long they were - clearly they've been there for a while and I just hadn't noticed. Haven't see any since then (I pulled those out).
I have more now since having my dd. Its nothing crazy but I am really starting to notice. I am more worried when the carpet starts to change then you know you are really old, lol. Then I guess its just time for tile, lol.
My older brother was nice enough to point out some of my gray hairs on my 21st birthday. So far the grays have been able to blend pretty well with my natural color though, so I haven't colored my hair yet.
I was in high school when I started noticing them. I'm 30 now and I have a small patch of grey around each temple as well as random others throughout my hair. Fortunately they are easy to hide by parting my hair, but I will have to start coloring, or get used to having visible grey much sooner than I would like.
I found my first grey hair on my 21st birthday and they've been picking up speed since then. It's still not obvious, just a few here and there, but they are coming in 3's now, instead of 1 here and there. (9 years later)
Oh, I was about 23 when I started getting my first ones. Now, at 31, I have a huge white streak that starts at one temple and goes all the way back...it's like a skunk stripe or something. I don't dye my hair anymore, so I'm just learning to live with it. My dad was totally gray by 35! I am at least content that it's a silvery/white, and not a yellowish gray... :)
I remember mine back in kindergarten. I have one in my bangs. My daughter has the same one. I'm 37 and even though I color my hair I don't have anymore gray. My roots needs colored again but all dark. My mom is the same, so it's genetics. My grandma colored her hair but she went gray in her 70's if I remember.
I saw my first couple of gray hairs at around 40. I am still maybe 1% gray and I am 46. My dad is 77 and is probably 15% gray.
My stylist noticed one on my wedding day (25). Now divorced (37) haven't seen one. Hmmm.
I think I was 25 when I first noticed. Now, I have to dye my hair!!
