Yes, like the first posted put, freecycle.org is a great place to get and give away free items locally. I get a ton of free stuff for my kids (toys, books, clothes, etc.) and I also give stuff away on there constantly.
Hi,
we have to cut corners everywhere. The cold whether is coming. And with my first child I have realized how much money it cost to have a baby especially for clothes. So the thing is, my husband and me just moved to this country. That means we don´t have family members or friends which can help us out with clothing or so. The second thing is that my husband is the one who brings the bacon home. So that also means that I have to be frugal on everything and silmutanously give my daughter everything she needs for the coming winter.
Does anyone knows a good spot where I can find clothes (pyjamas, blankets, ...) for less money? Maybe a website or so? Really, any advices are appreciated.
Thank you very much,
T.
Thanks to everyone! We have been to www.2nvaluestores.com (close to Franklin Mills Mall) and also to www.kidtokidstore.com. Both of them have very good and gently used clothes. They also have maternity stuffs, toys, pillows, etc.

Hi,
I would try www.freecycle.org. It is a website to keep the landfills free. Everything on the site is free, you just have to pick it up. You will need a Yahoo account (free) and must offer something before you ask for something. I get most of my sons' clothes and toys there.
good luck
Yard sales can have some great clothes!
try your local freecycle. People are always giving away baby clothes here.
Are there good thrift stores near you? Babies grow so fast that you can often find perfectly good second-hand baby clothes at minimal cost. Look for Goodwill stores, Salvation Army, Disabled American Veterans, ARC. You might be able to find store addresses online.
Also, do you have a church home? Ask there about places to find affordable baby things.
If you can get to Roxborough, the Salvation Army store on Pechin Street has a humungeous selection of clothes at extremely low prices.
I would tell you go to go to flea markets. There is a big one in philly-pansey flea market. I saw it on television. I would also go to any goodwill or thrift stores. all of it will save you money. I buy my son clothes in all of these places. I save a lot of money doing so. In new jersey there are several goodwills and a few flea markets too. Flea markets are normally open on the weekends-friday,saturday and sunday. If you have any other questions send me a note and I will give you my email address.
I see that you're in PA as well. Your local Salvation Army &/or Goodwill may have stores; ours do. I always find great deals with them, having our local Salvation Army being cheaper than Goodwill.
Oh, and have you checked the local churches? Some have "give away day" starting in Nov. & some have donation banks. HTH
Honestly, for a child that young, shop at Walmart. They have all sorts of sleepers and really cute outfites for $5 and under. You can't even get used stuff that cheap usually.
Check out craigslist as well, and hit local yard sales/garage sales. I just got my son all the clothes he needs for fall/winter and spent less than 15 for a winter coat, 6 pairs of pants, 6 sweatshirts, etc.
Also, with a baby that small, she's not going to be playing in the snow, so you can really layer and blanket her for trips. I'm guessing she's going to spend most of her outside time in the car, or going from house to car, etc. Pajamas - onesies - they need to be comfortable, but not burried in clothes.
Consignment Sales and Swaps at Churches/Schools/Play Groups are a great way to get a lot for very little.
Welcome & Good Luck!

Try this site and see if they will be having a sale in your area: www.jbfsale.com
It's great for buying and selling!
YOu could also try joining some local mom groups and trading clothes that their kids have outgrown, etc.
I volunteer at a Thrift Store that supports an animal shelter. On Fridays all clothing is 25 cents. You would be super surprised at the really, really nice stuff that is donated to us to help the animals.
Also, try churches in your area. Many have clothing "closets" where you can get things you need for free.
The thing to remember if you go to these places, be sure to donate back when your child outgrows them if they're in good shape so someone else who could use them has a chance to do so.
Best wishes.
Check on ksl.com Their classified will usually have lots of baby cloths for sale. Most people will sell totes full of their used babies cloths for a very small price.
Consignment shops can be great too
ARound here we have lots of consignment stores. I would also recommend Goodwill as they have lots of clothes too, plus check out any garage sales.
