There is a consignment store in Wexford called Kindered Spirits. It's a great store and she does a fifty-fifty split!

Be careful putting stuff on consignment. One time I put stuff on consignment with a guy that I knew well and I couldn't find my receipt and he wouldn't admit that I left stuff with him and wouldn't give me my things back and denied remembering me bringing it in. He also sold something for 35 dollars that I wanted 125 dollars for. Then after kept the rest of my stuff. I was angry. You are better off selling on ebay or having a yard sale.

I sold all of my daughter's clothes last weekend at a flea market what I didn't sell I was going to sell on ebay !!
I wanted the cash so I could go get her more clothes, the best advice I can give you is to find out where flea markets are in your area rent a spot and get rid of them that way I don't know how consignment shops work and I don't care to know You know what you want for your stuff and what you are willing to take!!

L. I buy a lot of stuff on ebay. I have seen lots of large lots (they seem to go for the most money) for sale there. I actually have bought a lot there myself. You would need to become a member, have a camera to take good pictures of the stuff, and have a credit card so that you can set up an account to receive the profits. Ebay charges a percentage of the final sale and a fee to posts. Both charges are minimal. Good luck.

There are a few consignment shops in the Ross Township area out near McKnight Road. I'm not sure how they work.

I've taken things to the store Once Upon a Child in Monroeville. They don't consign them. They buy them from you and then sell them.

There is also a store in Squirrel Hill that buys children's clothes. It is called A Child's Wardrobe. Honestly, I went there but their store was so stuffed full with things I really didn't look around.

Also, you could try posting it to Craig's List or to Ebay. I've seen a lot of people posting baby items on Craig's List.

Hope this helps and good luck.

My daughter grow so fast too and we had the same problem. I sold a lot of mine thru yard sales and got good prices for them, but you can also look in the phone book under clothing or consignment shops within your area and see what season they are taking clothes for.

Most of them are like the stores and are a season ahead, but a lot of them will not take them if they are over 2 years old though.

Good luck with this.

I have used One More Time in Swedesboro...they set the price and you receive half. You have to make an appointment. contract is for 6 weeks. Or is you want to make a little more $ you can use ebay, but that is more work for you!

If you can make it to Cozy Tots in Bryn Athyn this week-end, you might get a lot of ideas there. You can also check out their web-site, www.cozytots.com for some pointers on how to prepare your clothes for consignment. My sister consigned a lot of her kids clothing and she was always so organized about it. As her kids out grew their clothes she would put everything on hangers and then hang them in her basement according to sizes and sessions and when it was time for a consignment sale she was always ready. I have two young children and haven't started consigning yet but I am going to take my big sis' advice! Good luck!

I'm also a big fan of ebay. It takes a little time to take pictures and make everything look nice, then box and ship them, but it can be fun.

You might have great luck on Ebay, particularly if you list it "new with tags" and list the brand, size, "line" if there is one, in the description. I've had pretty good luck selling brand name maternity clothes and kids stuff. do a search for the item you think you'd like to sell to see what people are asking for similar items. then be sure to use the tools to figure out shipping and get a pay pal account. Great way to "work from home" and lighten your load at the same time . good luck.

I would go with http://www.craigslist.org

It is a great place to sell/buy/give stuff away, but it is a lot easier and much less red-tape than eBay. It's basically like a garage sale online.

I scoured craigslist for baby stuff :)

Not sure where you live, but there is a great consignment sale in the Collegeville area. www.smartmomssale.com. They may be full for consignors for their upcoming sale, but it is a great place to buy kids clothes. If you volunteer to work at the sale, you can shop early. Consignment shops will charge you a higher percentage than the smartmoms sale, but they will also label the stuff for you. Good luck.

I was in the same situation and looked into consignment..I found ebay to be a better option for me because I realized more profit immediately rather that waiting for a consignment shop to dole out the checks. I have been pretty successful with it and it is very user friendly to learn. Last summer I was able to pay for our beach vacation rental house last year! I have set up several friends and they are all doing well on ebay. Also..have you looked into the Snugglebugs sales? That seems pretty cool and they get LOTS of buyers coming to the sales (1-3 days per location). They have a website. You can google "snugglebugs." Good luck!

I go to the Used Kids Stuff place in Brodheadsville. You need to call to set an appointment with the owner to view your stuff. She is pretty picky about the condition of things, and for that reason I can usually find things for my own children there. Ask her what she requires before you make the trip.

I'm not sure where you live, but there is a nice consignment shop in the Southern York area called Kid to Kid. Here is the web address: http://www.kidtokid.com/show_location.php?id=90

They have an easy policy for consigning anything from clothes to toys and other baby supplies. They even have a maternity section if you have anything you want to get rid of.

Hope this helps,
Jen

There is a great group called Cozy Tots in the heart of Huntingdon Valley (Bryn Athyn) that is geared toward helping parents consign their baby/kid stuff twice a year. The ladies that run it are top notch and the fee to consign is minimal. They even give you the choice to pick up your things that were not sold or donate them to charity. Ironically, it's happening this weekend. March 8 from 8am-2pm and March 9 from 11am-2pm. The address is 600 Tomlinson Rd. Bryn Athyn, PA 19009. If you want more info go to www.cozytots.org. Good luck, and I might see you there, 'cause I'm due again in June!!!

Craigslist and eBay are the best places to start if your online savy. Otherwise check local fire halls and churches to see when they are having social events such as flea markets are childrens clothing sales. Privately owned consignment stores are always looking to add great finds into their own stores, you can take your items there and see how much they would give you for them. I've just always received the most for my clothes from eBay - but a pain, mailing, collecting monies etc. Good Luck!

Angels Attic is a GREAT consignment sale here in Butler. Stacey Bartholic runs it and she is wonderful. She has sales twice a year...spring and fall. We are actually getting ready for springs right now. It will be held at the Days Inn in butler the first weekend in April. Check out her website for more info. She is a super simple program for logging your items/tagging items and explains everything in great detail. She makes it goof proof. If your intersted in putting items in to the Spring sale, you must have your items in the computer by March 31st. Hope this has helped.
