J.P.
I have a digital one. I would like to find one that can either lie to me or have a magic wand option, lol.
I have a very old bathroom scale, used to be my grandmothers, and I LOVE it.
However, one of my darling children (or let's be honest, it was probably my husband) stepped on and cracked the little window screen (where you see the numbers)... and you can't read your weight anymore. Bummer.
I'd love to get an identical one, but before I do, I was just wondering: what's your preference? What kind of bathroom scale do YOU have? Do you love it?

I have one - it's one of the Biggest Loser ones...it was on an end cap at Target and weighs my chunky monkey self :). I love it - the numbers are big and easy to read and it counts out to the .5 or whatever is after the point :). It was only $20...we got it in March and love it still.
the kind that lies.......
Why on EARTH would you want a scale in your bathroom??? Honestly, to me the bathroom is the 1 room of the house that nobody is allowed to bother me, so it's almost like my sanctuary. I wouldn't dream of ruining that happy feeling by putting my arch nemesis intentionally into the equation!
I hadn't owned a scale ever until my husband requested one. We purchased a digital scale that also measures BMI. Pretty cool. I still don't use it, though :)
Digital that also measures percentage of body fat. Love it. Even when the weight doesn't move (when I am trying to lose), often the percentage of body fat DOES. Keeps me encouraged....
I figure a scale is like a vice. If I have one, then I'm going want to weigh myself and if I have that piece of dark chocolate hanging around, then I'll want to eat it. Either way I'll probably give my myself a hard time but at least the chocolate tastes nice while I feign feeling guilty. :)
I have an old-school balance scale, a smaller version of the kind they have at the doctor's office. It's very accurate and I weigh myself every morning. I may not like what it's telling me, but the daily reality check is better than being surprised by discovering that all of my pants are too tight.
I don't own one...they are deceiving little devils.
If my jeans zip up with out a muffin top spilling over then I am doing good...if they are tight then it is time to get crackin' at eating less and working out more. That is my "scale".
Good luck and best wishes at finding a replacement... that is durable enough for hubby and kids!
I've never owned a scale in my life. My Grandmother has this super old one with a needled that bobs back and forth. It kind of reminds me of a seismic machine, to measure earthquakes. (Or a lie detector test.) If I had one, it would totally be like that! She also has a fancy pants one from her nurse. It's massive and digital. It weighs to the ounce can go up to 350 pounds!!
oh geez, people still have bathroom scales?! Not me!
Just like Momma W I don't have one if my pants don't fit then I need to eat less and work out more.
Digital; hands down gives a much more accurate reading for home use. c:
Don't own one :) But that's my personal quirk.
We LOVE our scale! It's a shipping scale from Sam's Club. It's digital and even gives you ounces! I just have to know, you know?! :) ($50 I think)
I don't have one. When they're around I can't walk by without hopping on and always end up thinking I need to do something about the number. I'd rather look at myself in the mirror when I get out of the shower. If I like what I see, I'm not worried about the scale.
I get weighed at the doctors office or if I manage to get myself to the gym. Other than that ignorance is bliss :)
I can't tell you how many years it's been since I owned a bathroom scale. I think the only reason I got one when I moved out on my own was because it was kind of like what you just got...towels, soap dish, bath mat, scale.
I'm thin with a steady weight. I only get weighed when I go to the doctor. Unless I'm sick and have lost weight, my weight stays the same within a pound or two.
When my kids were really little, they liked getting on the scale to see how big they were getting. It got lost in a move or I threw it out, not sure. We haven't had one for a very long time.
My doctor's office had a neat digital and I really like it. But I have no preference really.
We have both the 'spin dial' ones and the digital ones and I much much prefer the digital one - the spin dial one is not accurate in my opinion
I chucked mine last month, so I couldn't tell ya! I was tired of my day being determined by the number on it going up 0.2 or down 0.2 :)
