I know this sounds silly, but I just bought a digital scale (I dont know why!!) because my dial scale worked just fine, but the stupid digital one says Im 4 lbs heavier than the dial one.
Which one is right? I dont have any wieghts to put on it to check. But funny thing, when I put one of the kids on them, they say they weigh the same on both.
And yeah, 4 lbs is a big deal to me. :)

What can I do next?

Just so you know, vacillating between 5 lbs is normal for most women, be it water retention or whatever, it can really change that much day to day!

I tend to go by how tight my pants are fitting rather than weight. My scale is off by 10 lbs and so I get the annoyance :)

Sounds like a calibration problem. The inaccuracy is greater at greater weights. No offense to you. You might be able to calibrate the scale. Otherwise, it'll be off at the some weight between you and your kids.

Of course, the lower value is always correct. No questions asked.

Do you have a 1-lb bag of flour? You could try that to see if it's calibrated correctly. Also make sure the scale is on a level surface. Have you moved it around a little bit and weighed yourself a few times on different parts of the floor?
4 lbs would be a big deal to me too. But you're still the same you, your clothes don't fit any tighter than they did with the other scale.
I've decided to stop weighing myself for awhile because it wasn't benefiting me in the least, mentally or physically.

My joke would be the one who says less but actually the digital scale is more accurate.

Scales can vary by several pounds, even if you step on and off and on again during the same weighing. My analog scale has an adjustment knob that allows us to match the weight we get at the doctor's office. Its factory setting is actually 12 pounds too low for us (we weigh about the same). But setting it 12 pounds higher, which works for us, would make a 10-pound sack of flour look like it weighs 22 pounds, so those adjustments are not good for both larger and smaller subjects.

I've looked for several years for a truly accurate scale. No luck yet, according to user reviews, so we keep checking our old one against the doctor's scale when we have appointments. The balance type that doctor's offices use are probably the most reliable, but they are too big and expensive for most of us.

I would freak at a 4lb difference so I hear ya!

My advice - ignore the scale - go by your clothes - and have a very merry holiday. :-)
