I will start the potty training adventure in the next six months and I am starting to look around for the best potty seat out there for her that is comfortable and easy to clean. My little one is a bit on the chubby side and I want to make sure the seat I buy will fit a large child.

I would like to know from other mom's with little girls like mine what Seat has worked best for you?

What can I do next?

Trish,
Take her to the store and let her pick. She will be more likely to want to use the potty when it has been her choice of potties. Almost all of the training potties work about the same.
I have 3 daughters, 9 grandaughters, & 3 great granddaughters and this is the method I have always used with great success.

I think maybe skip the potty seat altogether. My son was a tall and thick boned boy. We tried a safety first potty and a fisher price one that sang. I quickly noticed he did not have much wiggle room. I went to Wal Mart and bought the adapter kind. This is just a circle shaped seat that goes on top of your potty, which gives child more room to go, you can flush it down ect. Also pick up a small rubber maid step, so they can reach...lol good luck

We used the potty seat from Boon. http://booninc.com/potty.html
It has been great, and has also fit all sizes of little bottoms. We put books on one side and toilet paper and/or wipes on the other. We found ours at Target a couple of years ago, but I don't know if they still carry it in store. Target does carry it online though. Good luck with the training!

I really like the Baby Bjorn potty seat. It fits into the toilet seat so it doesn't slide around, and it's adjustable for different toilets. It doesn't have any creases and seams, so it's very easy to clean, and there's a little 'splash guard' in front that keeps everything inside the toilet. It also has a little handle on the back so you can hang it somewhere when it is not being used. I also put a step stool in the bathroom, so my daughter can now do everything herself.

I think I bought it online from Target (not available in the store, though), and it was about $20 to $30 - maybe a little pricier than most, but I think it has been totally worth it.

I agree that the seat on top of the real potty is best. I've done both ways with different kids, and it was nice to not have to transition. My first, who I used a seperate potty chair with, was scared to death to sit on the big potty, but the second started out on the big potty and never had a problem. Also, the potty chair is pretty gross. Cut out the extra cleaning steps and just have it go right in the potty to be flushed!
