What Does This Mean or Does It Mean Anything?

I am 34 weeks pregnant and have had some strange new developments over the last week. It feels like my inner thighs (but really high inner thigh) is sore like I've been working out which I haven't. I also started getting this prickly feeling in my genital area and usually it gets better if I pee so it's probably related to the baby putting pressure on my bladder. Anyone experienced this? Does it mean anything at all or could it possibly mean I may go early?

What can I do next?

I just wanted to say that I am going through it right now, but only at 31 weeks. My doctor told me it was the baby finally getting into position and causing the round ligaments to stretch. He told me to take it easy since I have about 8 more weeks to go and the pain would get worse. Oh and sometimes the child is pressing on my bladder so much, I literally have to go pee asap. Oh the joys of pregnancy... Good luck!

The soreness in your inner thighs is probably ligament pain. Very common--those ligaments getting sore is what makes us waddle---not our size, contrary to popular belief. :) As for the prickly feeling, could be from your bladder like you said, or from blood pooling in your groin. Ahhh, the joys of late pregnancy. And despite it all, I'd do it again!

The baby is moving and your body is getting ready to introduce you to the little one. Just hang in there. It will be over soon and all you'll be able to think about is that little one in your arms!

Congratulations!

I had that too with all 3 pregnancies. It simply means that nature is taking over and your body is getting ready to have a baby:)

Congrats:)

As far as I know you are fine... Your body is getting ready to give birth.... You are almost there and your baby may be positioned and that's why you feel that pressure... try to relax and enjoy your last weeks of the pregnancy.... but if you feel very uncomfortable call you doctor to make sure everything is fine.

My second baby was huge and I had immense groin pain from about 7 months. It felt like he was about to drop out when in fact, I was carrying quite high. My doctor did advise me to take it easy after that, more to avoid the pain than anything else, but she diagnosed it as round ligament strain.

It all means that your body knows what it's doing and getting you prepared for birth.
As your baby moves down it makes room for itself and you may feel a pinching or a cramping in your legs or back. As long as they aren't excruciating, you're just getting ready.
You don't have long to go now!

Best wishes!

one thing to keep in mind is that - as already stated - it's probably just your ligaments stretching and your body adapting, but there is something called pubis synthesis disorder. You would know it if you had it (painful!) but the pubis synthesis is all ligament and cartilage and a fall, vigorous exercise, or (while not as common) just the weight of the baby can cause this to separate.
So, probably nothing to worry about, but you might want to watch your activity level and any type of "straddle" stretching - just in case this is a warning sign of the threat of a separated pubis synthesis.

Don't fret! Just enjoy your last 6-8 weeks of pregnancy!
