What Are You Wearing? JFF

So on those days that you are staying home with the kiddos, do you get dressed in 'real' clothes (ex. not sweats, pajama pants, t-shirts, etc)? Since most of my days are spent crawling around on the floor with my little one, I hate to be uncomfortable and wear nice clothes, as a result I am living in my pajama pants if I'm not going anywhere. My friend was shocked, she always changes into nice clothes before hubby comes home from work. What do you wear on a lazy day and do you dress up for your SO?

What can I do next?

hi little-

On days when I have no kiddos (or other outside obligations) I wear...dare I say it...leggings and an oversize T or sweater...

I STILL do - even tho my kiddos are MUCH older. They are comfy and practical for so many things.

I rest easy KNOWING that when there is a time to 'dress up'...I can knock the ball out of the park!!

Best luck!!

Ha no way! I always stay in my pajamas even without bra if I'm staying home. If I have to run somewhere fast I'll put on bra and brush my teeth. Even though I feel disgusting, I think, I am too lazy to get all dolled up for Walmart. Plus I'll fit right in with that croud lol. Peopleofwalmart.com

Getting dressed helps me to transition from one frame of mind to the next. Sort of like a costume helps to get one into character.

A friend of mine was just accepted into medical school. He's been a very dedicated student and I asked him what helped to keep him on academic track. Before class, he said, he'd put on a suit vest. He said be felt more professional and that helped him take himself seriously as a student.

I am more productive when I'm in role as well. Cleaning/Construction-Ephie wears boys jeans, a ratty tang top, and tennis shoes. Mama Ephie at home or running into town wears comfy fitted jeans, a soft top and sweater, and boots. Sunday Ephie wears PJs until noon and then repeats above combination sans makeup. Professional Ephie wears boots, tights, a fitted knee length skirt and fitted sweater, light makeup, and a necklace.

Every morning I put on my watch. Every night I take it off. I choose not to recognize time once the kids go to bed.

When I get dressed, it has nothing to do with the people around me. I put on what ever best served the purpose of wearing clothes and what makes me feel the way I want to feel. I'm a visual person. Clothes are fun. They are where aesthetics gets to meet function and I like putting thought and intention into my presentation.

If I'm having a lazy day and am wearing lazy-feeling clothes, I wouldn't change for my husband. Whenever he gets home he looses his shirt and one of his socks (not kidding). He's really ambivalent about aesthetics (although he's very particular about smell and texture). Unless I'm naked or wearing sassy undies, he wouldn't know the difference. In this way we are very dissimilar.

I'm in sweats now because I worked out!

I love to dress up if I'm going out with SO or just out for a night.

During the week, I wear jeans when with DD so I don't feel frumpy. But the second I get home I jump into shorts or sweats. A comfy mom is a happy mom.

So glad I don't have a SO who is high-maintenance about that. I'm more likely to dress up because of that!

It depends on what I'm doing. If I am having a "cleaning" day. where I scrub everything down and organize, i will be in yoga pants and a t-shirt. If I am going to be outside running around with my son, it's about the same. If I'm just home and nothing is really going on, I'll be in jeans and a nice t-shirt. I typically wear jeans and a fitted top or t-shirt, or a long skirt and cute top if we're going out. Nothing high maintenance.

I would never be embarrassed for someone to see me in yoga pants and a fitted t-shirt. No, I don't redress for my husband. He doesn't for me. We are both casual people and don't enjoy feeling inhibited by clothing. I don't ever "dress up" unless we are at a wedding, funeral, etc. Neither does my husband.

My standard every day wear is jeans and a fitted T from the GAP. Some days I may dress it up a little by adding a cardigan and skinny jeans with tall boots, other days I dress it down with a slouchy low rise jean and flip flops or Converse and a baseball hat. I do always change out of my jammies, that for me is a little too dressed down for my personality type.

Jeans and a t-shirt. No, I do not dress up for my husband. He does not get home until 11:30pm and I'm in my pj's by then!

I get dressed everyday. And I am at home with my children everyday for the most part. Today, I have on a skirt, a t-shirt (not cheap Hanes t or anything, but a styled one) with a 3/4 sleeve cardi over it. With slippers because my feet are always cold and I hate wearing shoes in the house. :) Some days I will wear jeans, but mostly skirts. I like they way they look, and they make feel young and fresh. I love the flow of a skirt. I'm not talking frumpy skirts though. :) I don't like some types of skirts. LOL I've been called "particular" a time or two.... If it is cold, I will wear longer skirts with leggings underneath (that you can't see) to keep my legs warm. If it is warm, I will wear skirts that hit right at my knees, A-line. Fun. And, sometimes lighter-weight longer skirts.

Oh, and I do like to make sure I look nice for my honey when he gets home. Doesn't always happen, but I try to look in the mirror before he arrives home. Fix my makeup, my hair. Normally nothing is needed, but sometimes it is if it's been a rough day. :) I want him to come home to his wife who he thinks is hot and be so glad to be home. :)

In the winter, I'm in my pj bottoms and a sweatshirt. It's just so comfy! For some reason, I can't find a pair of jeans that fit good, so that's a big reason my sweats/pj bottoms win. If I had a pair of jeans that fit right I'd wear them. I'm always so cold in the winter a regular long sleve shirt is not enough, so I'm looking for sweatshirts.

Of course, when I go out of the house, even to pick up from school, I change into real clothes. But I don't change for hubbie - as soon as he gets home from work it sweats for him too!

In the summer I get out of the "bum" clothes I so love in the winter. For some reason my capris fit better than jeans, so it's denim or light weight capris and some type of polo or other casual shirt. Usually flip-flops.

I do have to fight my hair into submission each day - it has a natural wave and frizz, so I have to use a lot of product and straighten it otherwise it's horrible. Sometimes make-up, but rarely and just mascara or something.

Right this minute it's a pair of jean capris and an old Hanes t-shirt b/c I was painting the front door :)

I used to even garden in my pajamas until the day I ripped the bodice on a gown, right in front of my male neighbor, and gave him quite the peep show! Now, when I'm going to be working outside I at least put on a t-shirt and some kind of pants. I own very few nice clothes and what I do own are for church so I'm not going to wear them while mucking out the rabbit barn, mopping the floors or hauling wood.

I will say though that when I make the effort to not look so grungy that Hubby does notice. The kids? Never.

it depends. If we are just home all day and have no where to go, then we ALL just stay in our jamies. If I know we will be home but playing outside, and I might see my neighbors, then I will put some jeans on, lol!

I have never been the type to wear pajama pants at all. I've always felt I was too heavy for them and they'd make me looks worse. I occasionally wear sweat pants(only at home or sleeping at camp) but I am mostly a jeans or dress pant wearer. When my kids were babies I'd wear a t-shirt with jeans and change into better shirts if I was going to the store. I never changed for my husband though. He is a t-shirt guy himself. And his t-shirts can sometimes look worse than mine. lol.

I do get dressed, but sometimes I wear my overalls if I'm not going anywhere. But, since most days I have to walk a kid to school, or drop one off at preschool I am usually in jeans and a t-shirt or jeans and long sleeved t-shirt.

I never get redressed for my husband though, but I also know someone who does.

Well, I get dressed every day. To the shoes.
No pajama pants, no jammy tops, no sweats...I feel sloppy in those.
Not "dressed up" dressed, but capris or jeans and a tee shirt or top (not a cruddy t-shirt--something"decent").
I dress to the point that I could run to the store, park, etc and NOT be embarrassed if I run into someone I know, kwim?
So....no need to change before my husband gets home...

I don't dress up but I do dress. Once in a blue moon, usually in the winter I may stay in my PJs all day but that is it.

I haven't had makeup on all weekend and I am only sporting a pony tail.

Then again Troy doesn't have any makeup on either. :p

We are both relaxing, fixing up the house and playing with the kids. No makeup required. :)

I'm always in fitness clothes , but I look cute still. Yoga pants or capris camisole top and sports bra , hair is usually up in high pony tail. I figure I work out twice a day now so what's the point in changing unless I go out to a store or somewhere else.

I always wear comfortable clothes but cute clothes at the same time. I cant stand being uncomfortable---so I will normally wear a nice sweatsuit or sundress and leggings etc. if it is a special occasion, then I do dress up all the way-heels, hair done, makeup nice etc. I wear makeup every day but don't wear lipstick every day.

Before my hubby gets home though, I do try to look presentable and at least clean--lol---no food/vomit etc. from the day's activities.
