I went to the Dr on Tuesday and was tolkd that I have a UTI. She put me on Cipro. I am now in more pain that what I was in. Does this mean the Cipro may not be working. I have been taking the AZO pills too, but the pain it worse than childbirth.

What can I do next?

Ooh -it sounds like you may have kidney stones. Did she mention anything about those? It's one thing many doctors and nurses who have had both will say is even more painful than labor and birth.

I would call the dr and let them know what's going on. I will go to the dr and they will do a test and say it's in your bladder and put me on something and before that has a chance to do anything it's in my kidneys. They need to know what's going on so they can decide if you need to come back in or just call in something stronger. I was admitted to the hospital for three days because of a kidney infection. It's not pretty. Cranberry Juice helps too or pills. I tend to do both when I get them. I would not wait.

Good luck and God Bless!

With pain that bad -- go back. If you can't get back into your doctor today, head to an Urgent Care. It doesn't sound right.

Ditto what Julie B said. Go back to doctor to rule out kidney stones. I've had 3 of them, and had burning and bleeding during urination with all of them. The pain was far worse than childbirth pain. It is so bad, I'd take having a kid au natural versus another kidney stone any day. Please go to a doctor asap! They can give you meds for relief and push fluids so hopefully it will pass without having to try other options. Good luck and feel better!
