I am an intended surrogate carrier who lives in Indiana. The intended parents and I have agreed that the delivery will take place in Chicago, but I will be receiving most of my OB care up to that point in Indiana. I need to find a great doctor in the Chicago area that will accepting me as a transfer patient mid to late pregnancy. The hospital doesn't matter, the exact location doesn't matter... it just needs to be a wonderful OB doctor that will agree to these wonderful terms :) Please, does anybody have any recommendations? Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your suggestions and responses! I followed up on a lot of them! I ended up finding one today, suggested by another source. For anyone in the same on, the practice is called West Suburban Woman's Health and the website is situatihttp://www.wswomenshealth.com/index.html In my situation, they have agreed to see me once right after the pregnancy occurs and then just once again before delivery! The practice delivers at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, IL and it has an absolutely awesome and informative website as well. Thank you again for all your help and input!

I have a friend who works at Lutheran General (Advocate) in Park Ridge (she's a sonographer). She gets a lot of people who switch OBs in late term. She raves about the docs there. Would go myself, if it was a little closer to home.

Hello! My ob is Bonnie Wise. She is a part of Northwestern Specialists for Women. Although I can't speak to the situation of transferring mid-pregnancy exactly, I have found Dr. Wise to be very easy to communicate with and accommodating. Her practice is all female, too.

And, she delivers at Prentice -- which is awesome!

Good luck!

There is no finer OB in Chicago than Dr. Mark Sibul with the Association for Women's Healthcare. He works out of Northwestern Hospital in Streetervilel (downtown Chicago). He has been a great coach and I have referred many friends to him. As a matter of fact, he just delivered one of my girlfriends twins last week! Good luck and may you receive many blessings for the gift that you are giving!

You may wish to contact Dr. Mary Wood-Molo at Womens' Health Consultants (www.whcchicago.com) ###-###-#### (baby). The entire group practices out of Rush University Medical Center and Rush Hospital on Harrison.

Now, I do not know if she would be able to accept a transfer BUT the reason I recommend her is because the WHC practice is one that not only offers routine OB/GYN care but also has a pretty intensive reproductive endocrinology/infertility section as well. Given that they deal with IVF and surrogacy, they might be a good place to start.

Good luck to you.

I do know my OB/GYN takes transfers. Her name is Dr. Theresa Hubka of Comprehensive Wellness Care at 2825 N. Halsted (near Halsted/Diversy) She delivers at Swedish Covenant and Mercy Hospitals. Her phone is ###-###-####. She has a 4% csection rate and very high ratings as a doctor. I am seeing her now for my pregnancy and cannot say enough nice things about her. If you do go to her, please tell her I recommended her. Good Luck!

Hello. Please double-check with your current OB and any potential OBs about their transfer policies. My girlfriend wanted to transfer OBs locally, but none of the OBs she contacted would accept a transfer when the pregnancy was beyond 20 weeks.

I would call the Association for Women's healthcare on Michigan Ave. Dr Weiss is fabulous and would talk to you abut everything. They typically deliver at Northwestern Prentice Women's Hospital, so you would be in good hands!

I'm a gestational carrier and I'm a patient of Dr. Maryann Phillippi with DuPage Medical Group. I delivered at Edward Hospital in Naperville and had quite possible the very best experience there. It's not in the city, but I would highly recommend looking into it. Good luck!

We lived in Chicago when I had my son last year. My OB was Abbie Roth. I think her practice name is Northwestern Women's Health. She was very easygoing and great to work with. If her practice takes transfers, I definitely recommend going to her.

I went to Lutheran General Hospital which is one of the best in the midwest, and a high-risk hospital with wonderful amenities and an easy-to-get-to location just outside the city in Park Ridge. I used women's health specialists located there, ###-###-####.
