Does anyone have or know of toning, firming shoes that they like, or don't like. I would like to hear both good and bad reviews please. I just need them for everyday wearing and going on walks, I know Reebok has different ones. I don't really like the look of Skechers shape ups. Thank you for your help, I just don't want to spend that much money without hearing different experiences and reviews. Also I am going to spend saturday walking around seattle before a mariners game, do you think I should wear this kind of shoe or will it wear me out and have my slowing everyone else in my group down? Should I wear regular shoes for all that walking around?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for all your great responses. I ended up using BOGO at Payless and got some Champion toning shoes for about 30.00 and another pair of great walking shoes for long walks when I don't want the extra work for my legs. I mainly decided on the Champion ones because I was able to get 2 pairs of shoes for less than half the price of most other toning shoes. I felt the Champion toning shoes working as I walked around the store but they are also super comfy. Thanks again for your input!

Until you get used to toning shoes, I wouldn't wear them for a long time. The ones I have are really comfortable but it can tire you out.
I have MBT mary jane style. I like them for dressy winter wear. I find them comfortable. the one drawback is the super thick sole thus making them having. you don't notice the sole if it is the same color as the shoe. MBT retail around $250. I've had them for 2 winters and they haven't worn out.
I also have earth antigravity sandals. they are some of the most comfortable sandals I own. No thick sole or anything that makes them look funny or like a toning shoe. they also aren't heavy like the MBT's. My earth sandals I got for $80. they definitely are cheaper than MBT but still seam to last.

Hi S.,

I bought the original (MBT) a few years back and I live in them. They do all they say they do. Mine were quite expensive, @ $250.00, but the company will replace the sole of the shoe for as long as you have it for a price. I think they quoted me $50.00.

Not only do they tone the legs, thighs, buttocks and abdomen but they also take pressure off of my knees. They force good posture and my feet don't hurt like they used to. My sister has a pair and my husband has three.

The only down side that I have (my husband and sister do not) is that the bottom of the shoe is rounded enough that I can't pivot and turn exactly the same way as I usually do in other shoes. As I'm remodeling my house, I don't climb the ladder in them.

They are a great everyday shoe and I wish I had found them earlier!

I bought the Skechers version and they were fun, comfortable, etc... However, I never felt the benefits from them and actually got hurt by wearing them. If you pronate, don't buy them! I kept falling off the edges of the shoes and hurt my hip!

I have a pair of Champion ones that were not expensive - they are super comfortable - I work as a nurse and never have issues on my feet all night - I am just starting to notice though, that when I take them off and go to bed - I have calf cramps! Guess that means they are working??

I don't have the Skechers shape-ups, but my Mom just bought them and LOVES them! She can really tell that they are toning her legs more. I've heard great things from other people who have them too.

I would buy NOTHING until you try it on and walk around in it for a bit. I tried the Reebok, Avia, and Skechers, and by far the Skechers felt the best of all three (to me).

I bought them, and I've worn them all over so far. I feel it best when I'm walking up a hill, and the ones I bought are nice enough to wear with work clothes about the half the time (black suede). I did pay more for them, but even without the toning stuff, they are probably the most comfortable shoes I've worn since I can remember (decades?).

Honestly, my legs are my worst feature, and though I first bought these shoes for toning, I just love the way they feel. I didn't have to wear them a few times to get used to them, and I don't think I walk any slower than with regular shoes... but it feels a bit like I'm walking through the snow, like I have to work a little harder to move along. The soles make their impact far less, though, so I just glide along.

I didn't feel like the other brands did anything that unusual. I actually put one Skechers on, and one of each of the other types... and there was no comparison. However, I'd take an hour and try everything on, walking all around to see what works for you. I have never spent this much money on a pair of shoes, but I can't say I regret it at all. My feet have never been so happy!

Hope that is helpful!

Don't buy sketchers shape-up, they will fall apart at the seams, and go flat the more u wear them, besides they are only a copy of the original shoe that cost 300.00 dollars, its just a fade, L.

I swore I wouldn't spend that much on sketchers, and then my husband bought them for me and suprised me! I work at Walmart and walk atleast 6 miles a day! I wore them to work the first day and was fine! They are definately comfortable shoes. Everyone I talked to said they loved them and they were sooo comfortable. I tried on the ones @ payless Shoe Source and they were soo squishy didn't like them, the sketchers arn't, they are very comfortable. I feel a little taller in them, but have found them very comfortable so far!

The sketcher toners hurt my knees, to narrow and not enough support on my ankels. Its like my feet were slippin up and down on back...I would tigh them tighter then top of my foot would go numb. Not for me........
I was so dissapointed.

They just came out with a toning sandal too for $29.99 as well reg. $29.99. I did sell a pair to a friend of mine late summer last year and she loved them.

I sell Avon and my mom bought the sneaker style Curves shoe. She has arthritis in her knee and she is actually more comfortable walking in these shoes than anything else. I just purchased the flip-flop style and like them (they feel more like a sandal than a flip-flop). I don't even feel the "rocking" motion so I didn't think they were working. Couldn't figure out why my rear end and calves were hurting. My husband pointed out that I've been wearing toning shoes. Duh. LOL Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have the Reebok Easy Tones. I don't feel them working on toning or firming but they have helped so much with my back pain. My back always hurt so much but after a few weeks wearing these shoes the pain went away.

I tried on some of the ones in the store. they were so pricey though and i just could not justify spending that much on a shoe. I did go with the Curves from Avon on sale, but even at $49 reg, they were a better price. They are very comfortable and I was able to wear them for most of the day with out overdoing it. I did not notice a difference in how they felt compared to how the others felt when I tried them on.
