I used frozen wash clothes too, they are better than any teething toy. I don't like to use medicine unless i have to. Also i have this feeding thing someone gave me ..it's a fine mesh bag that you can put frozen fruit in and they can chew on it and eat the fruit aswell as long as you have introduced solids i would think. not sure what it is called though someone else might.

Early on - we would fill our son's "Soothie" pacifier with water and freeze it. This worked great as it did the numbing and stimulating without meds.

Later - anything frozen (bagle, banana, waffle, etc.) helped to stimulate the gums which usually made him feel better.

When the molars started coming in we needed additional "help" and turned to an all-natural aid we found at Walgreen's. They are tiny pellets that you disolve in a spoonful of water and rub on the gums. They were a life-saver during that time. So far we have only found them at Walgreen's and on-line - the name is Humpreys Teething Pellets. They also make a strip but we did not try those. Our son would let us rub his gums and than he would drink the little bit that was leftover.

When the tooth was very close to rupturing his cheeks would get red hot and we would give a dose of Tylenol if it was bedtime just so he didn't suffer from no sleep. Other than those couple of occassions we were able to avoid Tylenol!

Hope that helps!
- J. :)

Hi G.,
What worked for my son was to wet then freeze little bay washcloths. Stack them up in a Ziplock bag in your freezer than let him gnaw on them. Be very careful of the numbing gel...only a tiny dab right where the tooth is coming--very hard to do--Q Tip required. They can choke & gag if you numb too much of their throats by accident.
You could try homeopathic teething tablets--Hyland's I think...Target, Walgreens, etc.

Teething tablets. they have worked wonders for our 1 yr old. We put 2 under his tongue when he's cranky and they work almost instantly. Good luck

After trying all 'conventional' methods with little to no success I heard about baltic amber teething necklasses on one of my other mom's groups. My son has been wearing one since he was about 9 months, and I have seen a HUGE difference when his teeth have come thru. You can check out the information online at www.inspiredbyfinn.com. If you decide to purchase one, you can put in discount code - 71 - for 10% off your purchase.

Hi, G.:

Have you used OTC Numbs-it?

If so and it's not working, ask your ped for a
RX of Hurricane gel for teething.

Hope this helps. Good luck. D.

You may find this a little odd but this is a cheap relief. Take a wash cloth and wet it, put it into the freezer until it is frozen solid. Take it out and let your baby chew on it. It really helps. Good luck
