We are planning on taking a trip to Orlando, FL (Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studio's). I saw in a magazine a month ago or so a cool idea for child safety.

It a Temporary Tattoo that can be put on your child...so if they are lost they can contact you if the child is found.

I have a 2 year old who tends to run off and doesnt return when called...also she is speech delayed so she can not understand questions nor answer them.

I thought I saw a barcode one...but cant remember where I saw it.

Does anyone know of these type of tattoo's? And where I can find them...

Will she wear a bracelet? I got a custom stamped one for my son here, it says emergency and our phone number:

The cord doesn't stay on, but you could tie it with a ribbon instead:

Or, you can do this, but I don't know that people would think of the numbers as being a phone number:

This is what I found for the tattoo, what a great idea!

In the craft section at the walmart by me they have tattoo sheets. You can design your own tattoos. I think they were 5 or 6 dollars for about 5 sheets. No shipping. You can put what you want on there.

Lots cheaper then the other tattoos. and they stay on!

I read about this one on the website parenthacks last year...

You take a sharpie and write your number on their tummy. The info is here:

I think it's kind of brilliant. there are other ideas/suggestions in the comments section too.

Hi Trish,

A mom at a ballpark had these tattoo's on her children. It was so cute because the tattoo's come in different colors and designs for boys and girls. I asked the mom where she got them from and she gave me this website, safetytat.com. It's awesome!!!

Thanks,

C. H.

We use a special pink or blue velcro strap that goes either on our child's shoe or we have also put it on their beltloop or on a necklace around their neck. We tell both our children: "If you ever get lost, find a lady with kids and tell her, My name is ___ and I can't find my mommy" and then they should point to their special id. We've told them this so many times that they know it by heart now :)
Here's the link to the site that has the Ids that we use.

Good luck and have a great time!

What a cool idea! Love it! Just thought I'd give you another child safety tip - when traveling to a theme park, etc., right before you walk in the gates, snap a head shot and full length shot of your child with your digital camera or cell phone - if they go missing, you'll have a same-day photo to share.

We were in Orlando earlier this year and we just put my cell number in the tongue of her shoes. That way if she disappeared, she knew to take off her shoe when she was with a Cast Member. Just a thought since I've never seen the tats.
