Southside Bakery?

I need to get a nice cake that would feed about 25-40 for a reception I am hosting, and am looking for a place that would have contemporary designs and preferrably cover the cake in fondant. Southside moms - can you recommend a bakery in Beverly, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Chicago Ridge, the Palos neighborhoods, Tinley Park or the Orland neighborhoods? Thanks!

I can't think of the name, but it might be Wolfs - near 95th and Pulaski (or maybe its Kedzie).

Sorry, I realize I am probably of NO help, but I have heard nothing but wonderful things about them.

Orland Park Bakery at 143rd and Lagrange is fantastic, as is Fleckenstein's near 191st and Lagrange. I know they both do fondant on large / wedding cakes, so I'm sure you'd be able to get it for a smaller one.

We always use Pierre's Bakery in Blue Island. When we were looking for wedding cakes, they let us taste several different kinds of cakes, so you could probably ask for a tasting to help you make your decision. They are wonderful and you will want to take some of their cookies on the way out!

Wolf's Bakery in Evergreen Park is sort of old fashioned (not really contemporary) but they will make what ever you want and they are delicious. I think they're best!

I agree Orland Bakery is good. Another one would be Naples Bakery on 95th st. Pierre's is the absolute best though, there is one in Blue Island, OUTSTANDING and GORGEOUS cakes.

I just had my daughters first birthday cake done at Fleckensteins in Mokena and it was AMAZING!! Not only was it absolutely BEAUTIFUL and better than what I had expected or could have thought to ask for, but it tasted amazing! Our cake fed about 30 people and cost me less than $40. For the cake that I got I would have paid more!

I ot an awesome cake from Juliana's Cakes in Tinley Park. I'm not sure if she does fondant, but everyone was raving about the cake. My dad, whose family owned a bakery for several years, said this was the best he has ever had. We got chocolate cake w/fudge filling and it was so moist. Hope this helps!

When I was looking at a bakery for my wedding, there was one in Orland/Tinley Park on 159th near Harlem. I can't remember the name, but they had fondant frosted cakes, and they tasted great.

Fleckensteins in Mokena is great (191st and wolf I think)? As well as Orland Park Bakery (143rd and something).
