The bakery I have gone to in past is closed (Fleckensteins) over the time I am having my twinkies first birthday party! Can anyone provide a bakery recommendation in the SW burbs - ex. Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Orland, Tinley Park? Thanks a bunch!
Fleckenstein's in Mokena. Just south of 191st on LaGrange on the east side of the street. We just had my daughter's baptism yesterday with the cake from there. Everyone thought is was wonderful (its all about the frosting I think :-) We tried Creative Cakes in Tinley and they are okay.

Fleckenstein's in Mokena on La Grange is awesome. They have the best cakes!!
Orland Bakery on 143rd and LaGrange has the best Atomic cakes ever!!!
I live in Plainfield, and the only bakeries that I trust for very special occassions are located in the SW suburbs -
I have used Fleckensteins on LaGrange in Mokena and Creative Cakes in Tinley Park - both are great.
Fresh Starts in Flossmoor has THE BEST cake. Fleckensteins in Mokena is good and in Tinley Park there's a bakery on Oak Park and 167th that does both beautiful decorations and is really good. Sorry I can't remember the name. They do a lot of wedding cakes.

Tinley Park, Oak Park Ave. is a place called Creative Cakes. I was intoduced to this place when having my baby shower (4 Years ago) and refuse to go anyplace else now. They can how ever be a bit on the pricy side. (1/2 sheet was 60.00 last year). They have standard decorations, or if you have something "special" in mind they will use that.

Hi Nicole, I have to agree that Fleckensteins Bakery is very good. They are in Mokena located between 191st & Willow on the East side of the street. There is a Rising Sun Rest. is next to it. Also Walt's Grocery Store has a good bakery dept. J.
