My daughter had that problem too just let her go since it didn't seem to bother her but I did put balmex on her knees at night & it seemed to help clear it up.
My almost 11 month old daughter just recently started crawling and I am very excited about it. However my house is all carpet and her knees are getting sore from crawling all around. I have tried just putting pants on her everytime she crawls but even then it doesn't seem to be helping. My fiance thinks we should try to find knee pads or something for her but I think that is a little much. Has anyone else had this issue? Please help...thanks!

My little boy had the same problem...he I guess had a reaction to whatever was in the rug, because he got these bumps on his knees. I went to get the knee pads from Babies R Us, but they were out that day, so I just cut the toes off some old socks that didn't fit anymore...Gap and Old Navy socks were the best because they have thick bottoms and that rubber traction stuff on them. They worked pretty good for awhile. He didn't really crawl for very long, maybe a month, six weeks. Once he could get himself over to the furniture, he learned to pull up and then got to cruising and walking from there.
Hi S., There is a product out there that might be able to help your beautiful girl,it's a pants that has a built in padding. I recently read about that product while reading costco magazine ads. Good luck.

Some babies are much more sensitive to the fibers in the carpet than others, also some babies drag their knees more than others, causing more irratation. You don't want her to stop crawling because it hurts, so go to Toys R US/Babies R Us or walmart/target and get these little knee pads they make for crawling, they work great. The other thing that we did was to lay out a very large soft blanket that covered most of the floor space in our family room (where my son did most of his crawling) and that helped, but we already had the blanket, knee pads would be cheaper to get and work well everywhere. Hope this helps.
I never had to use these, but I did see on my last trip to babies r us, some sort of pads for babies knees when crawling. i am not sure, but check out One Step Ahead website too. They probably have something too!
Hi S.,
Try using a thick pair of men's sweat socks with the foot part cut off to make something that looks like leg warmers if you know what they are. Hope this helps.
My son's knees were a little red from his crawling, too. I worried about it also. There's really not much you can do other than have her wear pants to help protect her skin. Maybe it will be incentive for her to start walking soon! LOL
Honestly, you just have to let her be. All three of my daughters had the same problem. After a couple of weeks, the knees will toughen up and it won't be an issue anymore. Have fun with her!
I personally wouldn't worry about her much... However if you really want to find kneepads for her they sell them at Onestepahead.com
Try Baby Legs! They are little leg warmers for babies. They are great! They come in a variety of colors and patterns and make diaper changes a breeze! Check out www.handsfreebaby.com.
Good luck! Traci
When my son started crawling, I did find little knee pads in the baby department of the Toys'R Us actually they were more like sweat bands. It helped a little. I found them a little late in the game so he didn't wear them long and they were a little tight. You might try making your own version. Good luck.
