Dr. Kevin Kuenstler runs a sleep study. His office is on North Beach Street, but I don't know where the study is done. A relative of mine has severe sleep apnea and I believe he went to him initially for the study.

My DH has always snored but recently it has been getting much worse. It become so loud it is keeping my DD up at night. Can anyone recommend a good Doctor specializing in sleep disorders that can help us out.

My DH went for three sleep studies at a clinic in Lewisville (the one our Dr. Recommended).
Finally after over a month we have the results back. His breathing was "shutting down" an average of 76 times a night; which is not only sever sleep Apnea, but extremely dangerous. He has the snoring disorder caused by his brain trying to shut down his respiratory system while sleeping. There are no surgeries that fix it.
So he's getting a V-pap device to wear while sleeping. It senses how much air is going into his nose and self adjusts to force the proper amount into him.
Luckily, our insurance will cover the entire device.
He told me that when they let him wear the V-pap at the Dr,'s office he slept better than he has ever slept before.
So I can't wait to get this thing! Maybe I can get some sleep too.
Just have to wait for the insurance and Dr. to finish up the paperwork.

Contact Dr. Raroque. He's great and sends his patients to the hospital where I work (Baylor Grapevine). Our sleep lab is AWESOME! :)
Hi R.,
I agree with April. I'd start with the insurance company. There are so many sleep labs out there, and I'm sure most of them are great. My husband went to one at Baylor Irving. But, we just went with one covered with insurance. Good luck! My husband got a CPAP machine and it is a lifesaver!

dr. craig schwimmer is an ent that specializes only in sleep medicine. he is at methodist hospital and is great.
you could also see an audiologist for "snore plugs" from a company called westone. they work great!!
There is a sleep clinic in Southlake. I think I'd start with my insurance company so that you can be sure it's covered. My DH had nasal surgery and it was better at first... but now I take ambien so i never hear him anymore! Ha!
