Sick? Teething?

For the past 5 days my 7 month old has had an on/off temperature. He ranges from normal to 101 throughout the day. At times he is grumpy and/or more tired but other times he is in a great mood and playing. He does have a small cough. His eyes are goopy at times (mostly after waking up) but not red or itchy. He hasn't wanted to eat solids for the last 4 days but is nursing just fine. He hasn't pooped in about 3 days but doesn't seem bothered by that. He is peeing just fine. He did just cut his 4th tooth (an eye tooth) and working on some more.
Any idea what is going on here? I have already sent a message to his doctor just waiting to hear back.

What can I do next?

My 12 month old ran a fever of 101-102 for two days and drooled like crazy. Then he was fine and got a tooth. I thought maybe the fever was teeth but then my 7 year old started running a fever and had a bad cold. I figured they probably had the same thing except my baby didn't get it as bad because he's nursing so much. I'd say he probably has a touch of a bug or something.

I have to agree with the others...sounds sick to me. (Maybe teething on top of it...) We're in the same boat - minus the fever. DD (8mos) has been sick for 2.5 weeks and can't seem to shake it.
The doctor said to just hang on and that antibiotics won't work.

I would say have his ears checked.

101 seems a little high for teething. Mine would usually stay right around the 100 if not a little below. there are some major viruses going around.

Very similar experience with my 9 month old... She was super fussy, wouldn't take the bottle or solids( nursed ok tho not as much as usual)... The following day developed a fever for 2 days, which made for an even fussier & irrate baby. She also had her 4th tooth cut, so I'm sure that didn't help matters. Then, she started throwing up. (when it rains, it pours...) I took her to the pediatrician, who said that it was a stomach virus (apparently going around... Aren't they always?) Also the doc recommended baby Tylenol to help w/ the fever. She's just getting back to "normal" but it took a week to pass. Oh yes, towards the tail end of it, she developed a rash on her back, which I heard is pretty common for babies after a fever.

Teeth, cold or allergies. Could even be a slight ear &/or sinus infection.
