I know how difficult it can be to find a home church! We tried quite a few but finally fell in love! Even though its a bit of a trek for us (Clarence), Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church is exactly what you described - contemporary with a lot of energy and the children's program is beyond amazing!

And even though its a very big church, they do a great job at making it feel small! They have so many opportunities to get involved in big or small ways. I just volunteer part-time in the children's ministry and my husband is part-time security and heads up the mens softball team and has been on the bowling team and the football team in past years... and my father is VERY involved, he's in the band and is there a few times a week.
Pastor Karl, the head pastor, is so amazing at putting any sermon into ideas you can use every day! I find every sermon so useful and really can understand and apply it to my life! (you can watch the sermons on the website!) And he's such a people person - he truely loves each and every person who attends!
And the best part is that people are there to genuinely love God and serve eachother and are so positive and supportive! I've experienced churches with gossip and petty problems - its a nice change from that! Its an amazing environment and the only one my step-daughter felt truely comfortable out of the churches we tried - she was i think 4 or 5 when we started there and now she's 10 and LOVES their middle school ministries :) Their entire children's ministry is so organized and you can feel 100% confident that you're child is safe and will have a great time and learn a lot!
Someone else mentioned The Chapel which is the other "mega-church" and i've heard its also amazing!! I think its even a bit bigger than Eastern Hills and has a bit more of a "production" value than we do - more lights, camera, action, and things like individual seating instead of pews, so their energy might be even higher :) they even have their sermons broadcast on TV on sunday mornings! ours, even though large, is a bit simpler i think... but it all depends on what you're looking for, what you feel comfortable with and where your family fits! Some people are a bit overwhelmed by a bigger church and fit better in a smaller church family, but if you've never tried it i'd suggest trying one of the "mega churches" at least once and seeing what you think!
Good luck finding somewhere to call "home"!
