Hi Mom's. I am 5 wks pregnant, and fairly new in town. I am very close to Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, and was considering this hospital for my pregnancy/delivery. The reviews are great, but wanted to see if any of you had first hand experience of this Hospital or others around it. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who offered great advice concerning a Hospital in my area. I have made my decision, and am going to Premier OBGYN at Memorial Herman in Katy. It is a beautiful Hosptial and I love the staff and Doctors there. Thanks again.

That is a great hospital. I've had 3 of my 4 babies there and each time the doctors and nursing staff have been wonderful. They've very supportive and attentive. My last child ended up in the NICU for 12 days and although I missed him, I knew that was the best place for him to be in.

The labor and delivery rooms are huge!! They have a long couch and a table with 2-3 chairs. Perfect if you're going to have family in there with you. The restrooms are clean and they provide you with everything you'll need during your stay, with the exception of clothes. They also send you home with a free diaper bag, diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, coupons, pads for after delivery, medicated wipes (for hemoroids), stuff for sitz baths (to clean your area if you get an episiotomy), and baby formula.

The on-staff nursing consultant is the B-E-S-T!! I'm just mad that I didn't meet her until my last baby. She really helped me with pumping to send my milk to the NICU for my son. She made me feel like I was actually doing something to help him. She is very sweet!!

All I can say is they're great!!! Message me back if you have any questions and congratulations on your new pregnancy!! I hope it's a smooth one.

Mostly everyone I know in this area go to Methodist Willowbrook. Tomball Hospital built their new 10 floor tower a couple of years ago and just recently opened a new womens center on the 7th floor. Its really nice and the mom I visited was really pleased with the care. I do not know of anyone who has gone to Cyfair though. Goodluck.

Congratulations on the new baby! My sister-in-law had her baby at Cy-Fair and I am happy to say that my niece now 5 is very healthy. You see her mom has juevnille diabetes or Type I so this was not an easy process but they took good care of both Mom and baby. Hope this helps!

Hi. I live in the Jersey Village area and know Cy-Fair Hospital very well. My mother was a nurse there for awhile and I am a recruiter for the medial industry.

I personally, would not have a baby there. Their quality of care has gone down in the last few years. I recruit people out of there, not place them.

This is a very personal decision. You should take a tour of the maternity wards of all the nearby hospitals and find the one that you feel the most comfortable in. How you feel when you are there is all that matters.

Because of what I do, I can tell you the hospitals that are closest to you. Leave me a message.

Hope this helps.

Chris

I always hate to slam someone or a business, but if I were you I would try and choose another location to have my baby. I have personally had experience with this hospital and one of my very good friends died there (because of infection) so I'm sure thats why I don't have a good opinion. We have used the Methodist Willowbrook Hospital a couple of times and thought it was very nice. The staff was friendly, the care my husband received was excellent.

I gave birth 14 months ago to my son there. I think I had such high expectations on the delivery that I didn't count on things going wrong. My OB was on vacation and my specialist (I had a very large ovarian cyst and went for weekly U/S) found I had low ammniotic fluid. He had told me for the past month it was very unlikely for me to vag. deliver. But the forms he faxed them were all blurred and by the time I was admitted, his office had closed. Seems I had a hard time getting thru to the nurses about what was wrong with me. But once they realized what was going on, everything went ok. In my experience the hospital was great. Just my problems got in the way of making it peachy.

I delivered both of my children at CyFair. My experience was wonderful each time and I had wonderful nurses each time. I was employed by this facility both times but with my first pregnancy, the nurses were not aware that I was employed there or even a nurse for that matter and the treatment I received was still excellent. The food left something to be desired but the care I got was great!
