It definitely depends on your insurance coverage as to where you can go, but I live in Woodland & we absolutely love Woodland Healthcare. I am continually impressed with the level of care & quality we receive in all areas of health needs. My son (2.5) goes to Dr. Thomas March - Dr. March always gives us at least 20 minutes of his undivided attention, usually more - at Daniel's first visit we were talking for over an hour! Coming from a larger city, this would have been unheard of.
As for an OB, I've seen Dr. Wong a few times, who was fine, but during my pregnancy I've been seeing Dr. Curkendall - very impressed. Easy to talk to - again, gives me as much time as I need; supportive in my decisions, etc. Highly recommend. I've also been impressed with the lactation consultant I talked with, the classes they offer for new moms (& experienced ones :>), & though I've yet to give birth there, I've heard from several moms that they only had good experiences at the hospital when they gave birth.
I've heard good things about Sutter-Davis, but I've only known one friend who has given birth there. One thing I wasn't sure I agreed with was their policy about how long they will allow you to labor. 20 hours is the max - after that, you are automatically taken to have a c-section. My friend came within 10 minutes of the 20-hour mark & had to push that kid out any which way she could muster JUST so she wouldn't have to endure a c-section. In my opinion, that's kind of an extreme policy when it should be case-by-case. Again, I only have 1 example, so I'm not saying they're a terrible place or anything & it's possible that policy has changed. My friend had only good things to say regarding her Dr. visits there & her stay after the baby was born. Just something to inquire about it if you decide to check them out!
