Seeking OB/GYN, Pediatrician, and Hospital

I currently live in Tanasbourne. Just moved back to Oregon a month ago; it's been a very long time. I have a 1-year-old and I'm 6-week pregnant.

I would greatly appreciate it if you can share with me your experience with your ob/gyn, pediatrician, and/or hospital birthing center. Positive or negative welcome. I've been doing a lot of research but I want to hear people's personal experiences. Rankings and numbers just don't tell me the nitty gritty.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

July 15, 2012: I am currently seeing Dr. Nicola Rotberg at Tuality OBGYN in Hillsboro. While she seems knowledge, not-pushy, and nice I'm going to switch to someone else. I'm at 20 weeks now and have only seen her ONCE. Every time I have questions I either spoke with her medical assistant, Maria, whom I dislike (for valid reasons) or the on-call doctor, Dr. Shou. I have not chose a hospital but I heard not-so-good things about Tuality Community Hospital so I probably won't go there even though it's 10 minutes away. My son, now 18 months, is seeing Dr. Christoper Morris at the Westside Medical Clinic. We like him personally. Have only seen him twice. He seems knowledge, nice, gentle, and not the type that only goes by the book. The office staff are nice. The only con is the wait time. Twice we waited 30 minutes past our appointment time to be seen.

Columbia Women's Clinic was great for me through 2 pregnancies, and I still go there for annual exams. They have several doctors there, most or all are women. They are located at Providence St. Vincent Hospital. I have to say, St. Vincent's nursing staff were also all excellent when I was in having my babies.

If you are willing to drive into Portland, I highly recommend my OB/GYN over on the East Side. Her name is Anika Denali-Luengo; I've been seeing her for a couple years and she's great.

I like Dr. Kristen Flemmer as a general family doctor. She sees me and my 4 year old daughter. She is very knowledgable, and she takes all my concerns seriously. We usually get an appointment within a week of my call. Her office is in downtown Hillsboro, so that's about two miles from Tanasbourne, so I usually bundle my errands out that way and then hit the library and the grocery store on the way back.

I moved to the Portland area when I was 6 months pregnant so I know what you're going through. I know that you mentioned you want a female but if you can't find one, my doctor was a male from the NW Women's clinic. His name is Dr. Michael Davis. He was very personable and caring. I am diabetic and I felt he took extra time with me to talk about concerns that I had during my pregnancy. I hope this helps if you don't find a female.
