Seeking Ob-Gyn in Dallas Area for C-section

We have been planning our 3rd homebirth but baby is breech and not turning despite everything we have tried.

I need to find a ob-gyn to transfer to for a cesarean within the next couple of weeks. I need someone that is sympathetic of pain management during and after a c-section.

I have had a hernia repaired a few years ago and was prescribed hydrocodones and they didn't dent the pain for the first week. I could barely walk. I believe I have a low tolerance to pain. I am nervous because a c-section is much more invasive and serious than that was.

I am finding horror stories of women who are prescribed an insufficient amount of pain medication after a c-section, denied a refill, or worse, given motrin. We all know this is major abdominal surgery.

I am terrified of paying for a doctor that in turn wouldn't treat the pain properly. Can anyone recommend anyone or pm any recommendations ?

EDIT- I am new to the site and not sure how to respond but I wanted to say- I don't need medication now- I want to make sure I have it after a c-section.

Thanks ladies

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I know not many Dr's like prescribing pain medications for pregnant Mommy to be's. For both of my children I had to have C-Sections BUT I do recommend my current OBGYN Dr. Lauren Monti at Baylor Dallas (http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-lauren-monti-xb3.... Not saying she will prescribe pain medicine but she IS awesome and has GREAT bedside manners and I loved Baylor Dallas. She does tend to run late/behind for her office visits but that's just because she takes her time when she has you on her table for your appointment. I can say I never felt rushed, overlooked, nor neglected. I had many concerns and she helped walk me through everything without making me feel uncomfortable. I had my oldest at Baylor Garland and was NOT pleased. For my second child I went through 2 other OBGYNs (before Dr. Monti) and was again not happy with their attitudes and feel they did not listen to my needs/concerns. I too had a somewhat difficult time with pain and can say she did comfort my needs (before and after my C-Section) and I will continue to promote her awesomeness! Good luck!

Dr Mark Godat at Medical City Dallas is all kinds of awesome. He induced me twice and made sure I had pain meds after, so I'm sure he does after C-sections too.

This was my OB in March. Dr. Harn is great! I am a very special case with my son being my 9 th preg and only second child. I have to take heparin to bring babies into this world. I had to find a new dr because of problems with an irresponsible ob. I was blessed to have found Dr. Harn!
