Has anyone out there used Dr. Easterling's office in Sarasota and what did you think? I heard he has several midwives there too. Does anyone know if they do VBACS? Any insight would be helpful!

What can I do next?

I used their office throughout my high-risk pregnancy. Both Lee and L. (midwives) are incredible. My personal favorites at the office are Dr. Easterling and Dr. Jamison. I had *thought* I wanted to use a female OB, and I had originally chosen Amy Martin. Just my own personal experience...you're free to form your own opinion, of course, :o) but I didn't care for her much at all. Good Luck!

I don't really know their policy and procedure for Vbac's though, as we knew all along I was going to have to have a c-section.
Hope this helps

Dr. Doyle-Vallery was my OB and is my GYN now. I saw several of the midwives during routine OB care and never met Dr. Easterling until he delivered my son (c-section). There practice is such that you can decide who your specific OB will be, but you will also see midwives during the course of the pregnancy. They are all wonderful and very knowledgable. Dr. Doyle-Vallery was scheduled to do my c-section but was not on hospital duty when I went into early labor. Dr. Easterling was, so he did the c-section. He was wonderful, professional, etc. No complaints at all.
Not sure about the VBAC issue; I think it is based on the reason you had the c-section in the first place. With my first son it was an emergency because he was just too big to fit (and he was less than 8 pounds) so the decision was rather 'automatic' to do it again. I would definitely find out their policy. I know there was a state law in the past, but I believe that has changed due to specific reason for wanting/needing/hoping for a VBAC.
Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

I went there and saw Dr. Doyle Valarie. They do have lots of midwifes. I thought they were a great practice. I have a few friends that go there also. I am unsure about the VBAC but they are a great group! It wouldn't hurt to ask. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I'm a patient at their office, and I've seen all the doctors and midwives there. The only one that I wasn't crazy about is Dr. Jamison - not for any particular reason, but I guess we just didn't "click". I had an emergency c-section with my first baby, and they made a big point of telling me (as I was being wheeled into the operating room) that in their practice, once you have a c-section, all your future deliveries will be c-sections. I think that one of the consent papers I had to sign even said that. I'm due with my second baby at the end of August, and it's a scheduled c-section.

I do not know if they offer vbac's or not as I had a natural delivery but I would not recommend their office. I was a patient for several years and was very happy until they mistreated my last pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. They have no patient care and their office staff (assistants, etc) do not follow up on calls like they should. They are a perfect example of a practice that has gotten too large too fast and they have lost all sense of what really matters. I would have to say, the midwives are the best out of everyone at this practice.
