P.P.
HI C.:
I thought I responded to this a few weeks ago.. hmmm.. I guess I didn't do it right..I'm surprised no one has responded to this.. anyway.. I'm an early childhood teacher (ten plus years.. ) and mom of three older kids.. (high school and recent college grad..)I live in Cary with my husband and children. I have been working as a part-time nanny for a family in Algonquin. Their daughter was in my class at the preschool where I worked for 10 years.. the school is being sold soon so I decided it was time for me to look elsewhere.. I was hired by a wonderful preschool downtown Barrington..and work as their lead 2's teacher. This is the first summer I've worked as a nanny and it has worked out great..I work 3 afternoons a week for this family.
Before I started... I researched a company who employs nannies in the area called teachercare..(there is also a company called lakeshore nannies..) Teachercare is based in Schaumburg..you can google to find out more about them.. I called and spoke to the rep there and I was told they only hire full time nannies now..but I don't know.. maybe they went back to part time recently.. don't know.. so I wasn't interested in a full time position.. I called them as I found it interesting that they employ people who have been teachers or educators in some field.. and their rates were part-time nanny's were paid $12-14 a hour and full time nannies were paid $14-18 a hour.. I do educational activities with the children I watch.. a 3 and a half year old and 2 year old and then I just love the baby.. he is 3 and a half months old.. I will be teaching in the fall m-f mornings. The family has asked me to work for them 1 afternoon a week in the fall. I am paid $10 per hour when I watch just the older 2 children and then I charge $12 per hour when I watch all three.. she nurses the baby but when she has to run errands, he takes the bottle very well. Sometimes she just works around the house when I come other times she runs errands.
p.s. My daughter's boyfriend is from Kansas City Missouri.. are you from there or the state of Kansas City?
so.. hope this helps.. keep in touch!
Pam
