Seeking General Practioner in Northwest Suburbs

I have a D.O. I absolutely LOVE...and was telling a friend of mine about her and it turns out we have the same dr! Her name is Celeste Galizia-Cress. She works out of Lake Zurich and is based at Good Shepherd Hospital.

I really feel that she works in the best interest of her patients and listens to them. She's very down to earth and pays attention to your history, lifestyle, etc. when making her recommendations.

We are also looking for a pediatrician/family doctor and I have received two recommendations for a Dr. George Elvove in Libertyville. We have a consultation with him next week to see if we want to select him as our family's doctor. Aside from being a family doctor, he also does home births. Dr. Derken, Dr. Brak and their nurse practioner are awesome- their staff is great they are located in Barrington off of 22. I work in a peds office and there are 4 of us staff who see them.

Dr Elvove in Libertyville is great if you are looking for an MD who also takes a hollistic approach. He's great and his staff is wonderful too. I recently saw him for a skin irritation. Instead of recommending allergy meds and steroid cream as most Drs do, he recommended trying Fish Oil capsules first. He explained what was going on in my body and how the Fish Oil could help reduce the inflamation. I LOVE that he'll recommend something hollistic before just referring me off to a dermatologist. Also, he was anxious to hear how it worked out and asked that I call him in four weeks just to let him know how I was doing--I feel he has a personal interest in my well-being.

I haven't seen her yet, but my OB/GYN recommended Dr. Katherine Kamholz (who I see is already recommended here). I trust another Dr's opinion.

I see Dr Gail Bryant in Arlington Heights and I really like her.
