Dr. Woods in Vernon Hills, he also has other partners, my kids love him. If you need an OBGYN, Dr. Tyler in Vernon hills is by far the best doctor I ever had. He is extremely popular up here. Both doctors are out of ENH. Good luck!!

You can not go wrong with Dr. Elvove. He is also a OB as well and a family practitioner. He delivered my daughter at home(best experience EVER) and has taken care of my whole family ever since. He is not quick to give a lot of perscriptions, until he knows the source of the problem. He also is not into giving immunizations until babies are stong enough to handle them. And unlike most practices he would never give 4 or 5 at a time. It is too much for baby.

Welcome to the area, S.! We love our ENH pediatric group that's located on Rt. 60 and Butterfield Road. Our one year old daughter has had great care from Dr. Sheri Lippman and Dr. Tybor (but all the doctors in that group are great). I have the PERFECT doctor for you! You sound just like me, a city transplant expecing your first child and into organic and natural care. I was thrilled to find Dr. George Elvove in Libertyville. His website is www.elvovemd.com. My husband and I are expecting our first child in September, and recently began our pediatrician search. Dr. Elvove and his nurse Kathy spent over an hour between the two of them answering our questions and discussing our concerns during a consultation where we were determining if we would like him to become a family doctor. That kind of personal attention is unheard of these days! He is affiliated with Highland Park Hospital which is a part of ENH. He is committed to natural childbirth and breastfeeding. As a family doctor he treats the whole family, and will be with you from conception, birth and beyond. We interviewed him to be our pediatrician, but now I lament that I did not find him earlier so he could attend to me during my pregnancy (I am already paid up at my OBGYN office and don't want to switch over so late in my pregnancy).In terms of vaccinations, they offer them all, but will NOT pressure you to take unnecessary immunizations. They feel their job is to educate and give you choices. And if you lean towards natural and organic products, take this to heart, Kathy told me all I will need to bathe my baby is warm water and olive oil and not to waste my time with fancy creams etc. How's that for natural? We use Vernon Hills Pediatrics. They are wonderful. We really like Dr. Brian Sapp! But allthe other doctors in the practice are wonderful! They are really great to talk to, I have never felt rushed with any of the check-ups. They have always asked about the family. In fact, I was just in with an 18 month check up and he asked about my 2 older sons by name. They are wonderful!

I second Dr Elvove. He does not follow blindly all of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations, he takes a more conservative approach to vaccines, and welcomes alternative opinions.

There are 4 docs there, and we have met three of them. I really like Dr. Sherri Lippman - she is very open minded, pro-breastfeeding, etc. Dr. Elias Masri is also very warm and wonderful. We have seen Dr. Taybor, I didn't like her as much. My friend sees Dr. Wood on a regular basis, and they REALLY like him a lot too. I've never had a long wait, the nurses and other staff are all friendly, and we get good care there.

They're staffed with five excellent pediatricians, wonderful nurses and efficient reception. They have sick hour Monday thru Friday from 8am-9am. They're open Saturdays. Sundays for emergencies only. I would request an appointment with either Dr. Marilyn Zwirn or Dr. Cheryl Donovan-Hunt

I "third" Dr. Elvove. We found him more recently as I started really questioning vaccines with my second child. We love him! He will answer all your questions with care and treat you as the intelligent mommy you are. I can't wait to use him as our future Dr. for everything, for the whole family!

My twins go to Premier Pediatrics in Lincolnshire and have since birth. They have a website at www.premierpeds.com. There are 3 Dr.'s in the practice which make it great for emergency appt.'s. I have had great experiences with all 3 Dr.'s. The entire practice is filled with pleasant and caring staff. If I had to pick my favorite it would be Dr. Friedman. Although I'm not sure about how alternative they are I have always been impressed by his candid and thorough explanations to my questions and his style of not immediately pushing drugs as an answer to sickness. I have always found him to be open minded and willing to talk and answer any questions I may have. They are all pleasant and kind and seem to have a passion for what they do. No ego maniacs in my opinion which puts me at ease. They have a 24 hr. call line for after hours and weekends and they actually answer it or get back to you in a timely manner. I even had one of the Dr.'s call me back during the weekend just to follow-up on a call I had made a few days earlier. I actually met Dr. Oppenheim during my pre-natal class through the hospital I was delievering at (Condell) and they recommend a meeting with them first (or any Dr.) before deciding on a Pediatrician. Our meeting is what sold it for me. I don't know if they are in your area but they would be my choice. Have a great day and good luck!
