I just did my 3 year old's ears at Lollilocks and thought it was a great experience! I'd highly recommend it!
Does anyone know of a good, reputable place to have my 7 year-old's ears pierced? I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the places in the mall.

Yeah there are alot of peds that do peircing my doc at healing hearts does.. after all of the same confliction, i went ahead and went to clairs as well. i mean yeah the docs is a clean enviroment, but i think how often does the doctor peirce opposed to the ladys at clairs.... yes it ended up great,i took my husband with me because i know he'be more paticular than i,so they were very clean very steril and, even when i thought the dots were even she wasnt positive and took her time to make sure it was done right...i didn't feel prssured or rushed and baby didn't cry for but a few seconds, kinda the same as she whould if she were getting a shot.It is youre choice and i'm sure you will make the right one, good luck...
M.,
We just got our daughter's ears pierced and we too faced the dilemma. I ended up going to Claires in the mall, but after a lot of research. Claires has individual piercers that come in sterilized packs and do not actually touch the ear. They clean / sterilize everything in front of you and wear gloves for the procedure. The piercing comes with solution to clean the ears and they can do both ears at the same time. My daughter (almost 3) sat still and did not cry. The people were great. Another option, our peditrician (Dr. Werther at East Valley Peds) will pierce ears on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $60. It takes about an hour as they use a topical cream to numb the area first. We considreed that, but I did not think it was necessary to make it a huge deal to numb the area. My daughter said it did not even hurt as it was over so quickly. Good luck.
Merle Norman - Very patient, good experience.
If you are uncomfy with the mall places- I would suggest Merle Norman stores- they do it as well. IT is more expensive, but you may feel better about it.
I agree! My daughter is 2 and we haven't done it for the same reasons. If your pediatrician does it that would be ideal to me (ours doesn't), but I have heard great things about ear piercing at Lollilock's Kids Salon on Val Vista/Baseline. I don't know if they only have one person who does it, but I was told to ask for Brooke. My daughter gets her haircute there and we just love it! Good luck!

I would see if your pediatrician does it. To me, that is the safest, and you would get much more of a sterile environment. I've heard too many "mall" stories, and wouldn't do my child at one.
My pediatrician does it at Pediatrix off of I-17 & Bell Rd.
My sister works for him & not only had her daughters done there but has seen MANY children/babies have it done there w/ no problems! Best of all I think she said all you pay for is the jewlery & the piercing is free.
Hes a wonderful caring Dr. I drive all the way from Scottsdale to see him.
