Hello-
I am looking for an attorney that handles terminating a parents' rights. My husband and I are looking to terminate the rights of my 1st child's "father". Since income tax will be coming up soon that is when I am looking to have the money to be able to do this. The "father" has supervised visitation rights & is ordered to pay child support-none of which he does since we established everything back in June of 07'. I have already tried asking him to relinquish his rights but I have not been able to find him or get ahold him. My husband would also like to adopt him.
Does anyone know of an attorney that could help me with this? I would like to set up a consultation with someone pefferably the week after New Years. I don't have much $$ and we are planning to use our income tax to do this, but it just needs to be done. I live in the Irving area so anywhere close would be great.

i wish i could give you some advice. i have been trying to accomplish the very same thing for quite some time now so please share with me any information you get with me at my email ____@____.com i have learned that in order to terminate rights some one must be ready accept those rights yet the parent gaining rights or adopting the child must go thru home and social studies before being adopted and must live with the child at least 6 months. i truthfully dont even know if all of this is even true but maybe you and i can co research and share whatever information we gather. i live in carrollton in denton county so i will do my best for you in my searches.
