We moved from Fremont to Pleasanton in November and used a company out of Dublin called Movers-PakMan. Although they weren't the cheapest they were very competitive and had a not to exceed clause. This means that they gave us a worst case scenario estimate. If the time exceeded their estimate, then that would be their loss. If the time to move was less than the estimate, we would be pay only for the time it took. They charge per hour per mover. Prior to the move an estimator came out and gave us an estimate to pack us up or just move. We opted to pack most of our stuff and they showed up the day of the move ready to go. They have well trained and respectable movers. They worked fast and wrapped all the furniture. They even helped pack some misc items that were left. Upon arrival to our new home, they put all the items where we wanted and reassembled the furniture. All in all the process went smoothly. There were only two issues. One, in the new house they hit a corner and knocked of some sheet rock. They offered someone to come and repair it, at no cost to us. However, since it was a new construction, we had some other items that needed to be completed so the contractor took care of it. Two, I didn't realize until a week or two later but one wardrobe box was missing. Since they provided us with the wardrobe boxes I thought they forgot it on the truck. I called them to locate it but unfortunately we didn't have any luck. Now, I'm not sure where it was misplaced, considering it was a big box, but we never found it. We filed a claim and got a small check since we got the minimum insurance. Considering this two issues, I would use them again. We have moved many times before and this was by far the smoothest. Good Luck!
