Seeking a Good GYN

Hey all,

I am due for my yearly "lady checkup" and am wondering where to go. When I first moved to Lexington I randomly chose an obgyn to update my pills but now need an actual physical.

I am looking for a place that won't keep me waiting two hours. The last place kept me there almost two whole hours just to write out a stupid prescription.

I need a routine physical and also have a breast issue that I would like to address. Can I have my "lady doctor" look into this or do I need to see a whole new doctor? I ask because I don't want to look like a fool. Both places I went to before I moved did an exam but I have been told that not all docs do this. Maybe my friends have been going to the wrong place???

Anywho...I would love any input and suggestions.

Thanks...

What can I do next?

Lex OB/GYN with Dr. T. Sloane is the best doc around. She's younger, very nice, really takes the time to sit and talk with you before and after the exams. Her nurse is fantastic too. She can handle any of the other issues without seeing another doc. The lab is right there in the office if she orders labs. I have never had to wait more than 30 min when I have gone to see her. She delivered both of my girlfriends boys and was great in the delivery room too.

Her number is ###-###-####
Hope it works out for you!

Associates for Women's Care is a great place! I see Nancy there. She's a Certified Nurse Midwife, and they also have regular OB's. Everyone at their office is so friendly. I love that they don't use stirrups for your legs, it's much more relaxing. Nancy will talk to you and answer all your questions. I had a breast lump last year and she looked at it and talked to me, then their office made me an appointment at the breast clinic (part of St. Joseph East) across the road. It turned out to be just a swollen lymph node.

I have been seeing Dr. Jennifer Fuson at Central Baptist Hospital for a couple of years now. I LOVE her! She is very kind, very informative, and very supportive. I had a very rough pregnancy with my 1st and just recently had a miscarriage with my 2nd. She took care of me and did everything she could to calm my fears during the 1st and explained to me and tried to help my understand that the miscarriage was not my fault and could not have been prevented. She is sooo knowledgeable, and yet she is so warm. She isn't like one of those cold, methodical, textbook doctors. She treats her patients like people, not just another vagina...lol. Give her a call...###-###-####. She is great, the receptionists and nurses are all sweet as sugar, and they try very hard to keep things on schedule. Tell her M. E. referred you.
