Hi,

Does anyone know of a good consignment shop for baby clothes? I'm trying to figure out what to do all of my son's clothes that he no longer fits into. Or what are some other ideas? I don't want to just donate them all.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I know there is one in Oregon City on 7th called Buttons & Bows. They are pretty new, but they looked nice the time I went in. Don't know where you live, but this may be an option.

If you are in the Portland area, there are several twice-a-year huge consignment sales--one at Oaks Park, one out in Hillsboro, one in Tigard. I do the one in Hillsboro; it's called Pass It On (www.passitonsales.com). It's a bit of work on your end, but the sales are large events so you can get rid of a lot of items at once.

I know some people sell their baby clothes on Craig's List--another idea.

Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. An option if you want to get some value out of all the money you spent instead of flat out donating. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.

I take my son's clothes to All About Kids on NE 119 and Glisan in Portland. They have a fairly large selection of clothes, books and toys. I even found nice Kelty Kids backpack there. I just use store credit so am not sure whether there is a cash option.

Here's the link to Sweetpea's in Sellwood:
http://www.sweetpearesale.com/

I've been taking my son's clothes there to resell for about nine months and putting the money earned into his piggy bank. The owner is really sweet and the store has a great selection. You can either take cash for the items she sells for you or you can get a store credit. Be sure to call ahead before dropping stuff off.

There is a place on Cornellius Pass Road in Hillsboro, right off TV Hwy in a strip mall type place. I am not sure what it is called, but my neighbor takes all of her stuff there. I am about to get rid of some stuff too and I heard that place is great.

I actually just came from a place called Picacolina - it is on 2700 se 26th avenue (from the card). More easily put, it is on SE clinton and 27th (or maybe 26th)- one block south of division. Easy to find. She has lots of clothes and I think she offers 1/2 of what she sells clothes for - but I could be wrong about that. She has always been really nice to me when I have been in. I have heard of a place called milagros - I think on NE alberta, but I don't know if they do resale or are just a local children's store.
Good Luck
