I've owned my own Pampered Chef business for over 2 years. The investment you mentioned not having money for is $155. But if you host a show first, you can use some of your free product value earned toward the cost of your kit. Everything is included to get you started. And it really is very easy with many benefits. Tax benefits as well. You make your own schedule. You go to parties and make money doing it. It's fantastic. All the equipment you keep for use in your own home so it really is a no lose situation. Plus, you make back every cent you put into it in your first couple of shows. There's no real risk involved at all.
If that's not really your interest, no problem, but it works for me because I love it. That's the real key. Find something that you like to do. Products that you enjoy owning and it'll come easy to you. There's everything from jewelry, food, scrapbooking, and "adult" toys to candles. And many more in between. Each one has their own kit cost to get you started.
If you want more information, feel free to contact me. I'd love to help, but I won't push an agenda.
Best of luck to you!

E.,
I am getting ready to start working with a company that does gold buying. I am really looking forward to it. No selling! This company is the originator of the gold buying home party. "Make money, not spend it" You do home parties where the hostess invites people to bring their unwanted, broken, kinked gold and we pay them cash for it. The hostess receives 10% of the total payout. The concept during these hard times is perfect! They are looking for reps that are in different areas. If you would like more information, you can email me at ____@____.com or give me a call ###-###-####

Hi E.,
Congrats on your new little one! I know this is a special time in your life!
I have had my own business for 4 years now as a beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. The company has been around for 45 years, and it is based out of Dallas, Texas. I work my business with part time hours which is 2-6 hours a week. I make my profit through online orders, facials, shows, and brochure mailings which all I have learned through my new consultant training here in Orlando at the Mary Kay center.
The reason why I joined my business was because I was in Restaurant Management for 15 years. I met my husband through the last restaurant I worked with and long story short we have moved 8 times in 7 years. Mary Kay has no territories, and I have been able to get training everywhere I have lived. I felt that I needed to get back into some kind of business, while having the luxury of also staying home. The company is based on Faith, Family, and Career third which really impressed me. Starting is very do-able for anyone. You can visit my website at:
www.marykay.com/jdunkelberger
and go to the front page far right, where you can read all about the opportunities that women today have with the company. Alot of women have been starting their business with Mary Kay, and skincare sales have gone up! Apparently people don't want to be broke and ugly! lol :)My # is on my website.
Thank you!

Dear E.,

Think about all your options before leaving your job. I was a Director of an operational unit at FIU when I had my son (now 2 1/2 years old) and took a 5 month leave. I was also depressed when I went back, but we found a way to make it work for over a year while I worked on transition plans.

We live in Davie (just west of Ft. Lauderdale) and I worked at the University Park campus, down at SW 8th St and the FL turnpike so here are the modifications I made:

I decided I missed having awake time with my 5 month old, so I modified my work hours. I shifted my schedule to be from 7-4 instead of 8-5, which shortened my commute significantly and got my son home by 5pm, giving us more awake time.

I also asked if I could work from home one day per week, and then kept my son home with me on that day. I used it for catching up with emails, working on the office budget and other projects that I was able to do from home. FIU set me up with remote desktop access from my home computer which was wonderful. This worked very well, since my son was perfectly content to be in a sling while I worked, sometimes while I was standing up or walking around initially. Then the exersaucer became my best friend, he would sit in it and play for quite awhile if I just read whatever I was reading outloud for him. My day at home was Wednesday, so we only had 2 days in a row that we needed to get up dressed, out the door and commute.

While I worked this modified schedule, I also looked for a part time job and I do work outside the home in a traditional office job (not selling stuff at parties, etc) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. My son and I stay home on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I am spending even more time with him now. It took me a full year to get to this transition, but I am super grateful that I hung in there, saved some money, and still am working on retirement savings, college savings, etc.

Good luck to you! C.

Congratulations on being a Mommy with a baby girl! You are so blessed!
We have something in commom...I worked at a college, too, before going full time in my own businesses. (Though I liked the college work, including being Academic Dean, the politics became too much and the pay too little.)
You have some wonderful options. Both of my businesses are top income producers, registered with the BBB, in key position for growth and allow you to determine how much you want to earn with how much time you desire to give to your business.
I understand about your lack of money to invest at this time...it's not a concern. The urgency is to find out what YOU are looking for and see if I can assist you.
Plese give me a call on my business phone: ###-###-#### or my cell phone: ###-###-####. My name is B. A. and I reside in Flagler Beach, FL. Please feel free to visit my personal website (not business...I am a newly published author). www.BeverlyAmeykeller.com
I welcome the opportunity to chat with you and answer your questions. All the information I can share with you, E., is totally free and without any obligations. I remember being a single mom years ago and wondering how I would make it..so I really understand what you might be feeling.
I look forward to our connection.

I have been working for a company from home for over a year now. www.westathome.com

You have to have a pc, internet access, and a landline phone with no features. You are doing customer service work and no outbound calls. You set your own schedule in 1/2 hour increments.

Good luck

You are probably receiving a lot of information about possible work from home jobs. I have been in your shoes and have spent many hours online researching and trying to find the right one. The one thing that I ended up figuring out is that there are no true work from home "jobs." In a work from home job you usually start out working for a company and then for whatever reason, sometimes, the company will let you take your job home; thus work from home job.

However, there are many work from home “opportunities.” These opportunities provide you with the vehicle to work from home and build your own business. The difficult or frustrating part about finding the right opportunity is that there are many offers that are not legitimate, but scams. Theses scams make it difficult for the companies that truly offer a legitimate opportunity to work from home. Usually, work from home opportunities have a small investment to start your own business. These are okay as long as they are around $100, anything much more than that and I would stay away. Also if they require a monthly overhead to run the business it should include things like your websites, training, back office system, and support. Remember any business that you start and want to continue (whether it’s retail, restaurant, or home-based) will always have start up costs and monthly expenses.

I am a stay at home mother of 2 (ages 5 and 2). My husband works 6 days a week and I do not have much help in the area of child care for my children. On my journey to finding the right work from home opportunity I tried everything from selling vitamins, lotions and many other product based companies. I also looked into processing information online. What I realized with all these companies is that I usually put more money back into my business and ended up with lots of product I really did not need. I also was very skeptical of some of those online work from home websites that really never got to the point of what I would be doing to earn income.

Finally, I was given information on a legitimate work from home company. At first I was very skeptical and paid no attention to the information. Then one day my mother needed to have some dental work done but had no insurance. I remembered that I had some information on discount dental plans. Once I researched the information I had been given, I realized that I could provide my mother with a way to pay less for her procedure and earn an income for signing her onto the discount dental plan. I have been with the company since and am on the fast track toward building a 6 figure residual income.

I work 15 hours a week (give or take a few) for a National Discount Medical Benefits Company. The company has been in business for over 16 years and is continuing to expand! We have been featured on "60 minutes", "The New York Times", "Wall Street Journal", "Time Magazine", and "American Medical Review" as one of the most reputable, legitimate home based companies. We are members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance, which we are also a part of their membership.

Our company addresses the number one problem in US, which is that 70% of Americans can't afford or can't get health insurance for whatever reason. We are an alternative for people who are suffering with their health because of this issue. Now to work for our company you don't have to know everything there is to know about Health Care. Our company will train you on how to communicate our services to those who need it. We have over 2 million members that use our plans and save money on their health care.

When you work for the company you are able to set your own hours and build a residual income while you work. Because we get paid month after month, year after year for the work we do our income is always increasing and we get paid even when we don’t work. The company also does not enforce a monthly quota, which was important to me. I wanted to have the flexibility to work when I wanted and how much I wanted. Of course the more you put into your business the more income you will receive.

Some of the benefits we offer are 401k, direct deposit, life insurance and a family benefit package for your entire household. The next best thing is there is no cold calling, telemarketing, stocking of inventory, collecting of payments, and no home parties! This was very important to me as I had the child care issue to deal with and wanted to be able to stay home and work without having to leave my house.

Another great thing about our company is that we all work together to as a team. We are not out to compete with our fellow representatives. Whenever I need advice my team is there to help me to be a success. This was also very important as I was new to the business and wanted the team support you get working a 9-5 job without having to work the 9-5 job. I have also made many friends along the way and still have the interaction with adults while taking care of my children at home.

I guess I could go on and on about what we do and how we get paid, but the best thing for you to do is research the company for yourself and determine if it is right for you.

HI E.!

I feel your pain! I will never forget that feeling of leaving my precious baby. I have 3 children and went back to work after my 1st for 8 months then left the working world when #2 came along. It is very important for us women to be with our babies and to have a seperate means of income also. Life happens in ways we do not predict it will be. I have (3) business's to date. I love what I do and enjoy being here for my kids when they are sick and need me too. 2 of 3 kids were sick this week. If I were at a job I would have missed 3 days this week alone! My kids can come with me to my jobs sometimes and they have a ball! The most important thing is for "YOU" to be happy with your life also. Look around at all of the opportunities out there until to find the right fit for you, your husband & your baby. I work in sales and work my business's as needed. If I need a lot of money for something, I work harder. I sell (3) different types of products because everyone I meet is different. I sell Arbonne, all natural skin care products, Premier Designs Jewelry & Tastefully Simple gourmet food. I just moved to Florida in Sept. and these business's have helped me to meet lots of new friends! Although I love all 3, I find TS to be the easiest. It's gourmet food. People love to eat and gift giving season is here! I have a website and people shop right from it! The parties are a lot of fun and help you to get out of the house in the evenings or whatever suits. The jewelry is easy also. Arbonne products are wonderful and help a lot of people with skin conditions, weight loss, joint pain, etc. My websites are:
www.astonishingresults.myarbonne.com
www.tastefullysimple.com/web/lsmoker
www.premierdesigns.com
Please let me know if I can help in anyway:) I wish you the best as you search for a way to be with your baby angel!!! Blessings, L.
