Your dilemna is one that many of us moms have faced at some point.
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!
Ugh...now thinking about work! Yuck! ;-) I worked full-time for nearly 5 years before I finally decided to stay at home (I had also made the decision to go back to school to pursue a Masters degree). I knew that my family would need me to help supplement some part of the income and I searched high and low for a good work at home job. There is a lot of shady stuff out there!
Many of the ladies before me suggested companies like Avon, Arbonne, Pampered Chef, etc. There are TONS of companies out there...you just have to find the one that you like with the products you believe in. I have been a consultant for Tastefully Simple in the past and most recently I became a demonstrator for Gold Canyon Candles. I love it so far!
With most companies, there is some start up costs involved, but it's definitely nothing too expensive and you always make whatever you put out back in your first few parties, sales, etc.
It's just a matter of finding what you want to do and knowing what kind of time and effort you want to put towards a work at home career.
I also work part-time outside of the home waiting tables...I know that this isn't something that you would want to do now, but it might be something to consider once the baby is here.
Things will work out. The road will definitely be bumpy (trust me, I know!) but just know that you are not alone out there!
