McClaren Volo....It is soooo light, and soo easy to stroll. The Jeep Stroller is nice for the price but only goes to like 30 or 35 lbs. The Volo goes to 50. I can still use it with my 3 year old.
hello ladies,
my daughter is 9 mos old and is on the smaller side of average at about 17 pounds and 26 inches. she still fits in her infant car seat and probably will until about one year old.
i have a full-size stroller that i keep in my house for walks around the neighborhood while i keep a snap-n-go stroller in my trunk for when i am out running errands. however, as my baby is growing, the car seat is getting pretty heavy and cumbersome to move in and out of the snap-n-go. also, she doesn't really enjoy laying in her car seat when we are running errands (she would rather be sitting up so she can observe her surroundings).
can you recommend a good umbrella stroller which i can keep in my trunk for errands around town? what has worked for you and your little one? i would prefer $100 or less as it will stay in the trunk of my car.
thanks much!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Maclaren Quest. All of the Maclaren's are awesome but the Quest has an extendable legrest and the seat reclines. A lot of my friends have the Maclaren Volo which is about $60 and they love it, too, it's just a basic sturdy umbrella stroller without the bells and whistles.
I also love the Combi- it folds twice like a golf bag and comes with a travel bag to put it in when you fly to keep it from getting banged up.
I'm eagerly recommending the Inglesina Swift. It's about $119. It's lightweight and best feature of all is that the back rest reclines--something that the often recommended Maclearn Volo does NOT do. I used to have a Volo, but I hated it. It's so light that when you put your purse or bag on the back of it, it will flip right over! I've also found that it's not comfortable for young toddlers (12 mo.-2yrs.) The Inglesina Swift is really sturdy and very well made--comfy too!
We love the Maclaren Quest! It is sturdy and lightweight and easy to maneuver. It retails for $199, but I got last year's model on Ebay, brand-new, for $99.
Maclaren Volo, hands down is the best for $100. If you want to get a little fancier the Triumph is $150 but check out craigs list, I got my Triumph for $40!
I use the Jeep All Weather stroller, I think it is 29.99 I now have a 2.5 yr old and we still use it!
I travel on aircraft alot with my little man...we use an umbrella stroller to get from a to b. I have a Jeep umbrella stroller which was only $30+ as I recall, at Babies R us - definitely don't get the real cheap ones...the wheels buckle. The only drawback with mine is that it doesn't recline...I think some of the Jeep ones do...just not my model. It doesn't have a basket for storage, other than small "saddle bags". This one suits us though, as I wanted something compact so I didn't have to carry another bulky item - like you I have a large stroller for longer outings.
As always, I reccomend the Combi Cosmo Dx http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601-###-###-####-###... it retails for $100 at Target and also reclines as well as has an underneath storage basket. It weighs next to nothing and has a shoulder strap to carry around when neccessary.
I loved my Chicco London - I don't know if they still make it but it was less than the Volo and very easy and light. Plus, when the airline we were flying damaged the frame Chicco sent us a new stroller, free.
