Hey guys I have a question for you. I had my first ultrasound for my current pregnany yesterday and the doctor said that I MIGHT have a blood clot in my uterus. She asked if I was having any spotting or anything and I said no & she said well they would watch it and as long as baby and I were fine not to worry. I am having an ultrasound again in two weeks. I am wondering if anyone else has had this and can tell me anything more. Thanks !!

Did he call it a subchorionic hemmorage? They are pretty common and I had one with my last son. He is 4 1/2 months old now and extremely healthy and active. Mine went away by the time I gave birth. I know my doctor kept a close eye on it though. Congratulations by the way. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

With three of my four pregnancies I bled from my 12-20th week. I was on full bed rest and had to take it very easy. With my second baby (first time to bleed) I also passed a blood clot. It scared me to death, but my doctor just brushed it off. If you have a good doctor that will take care of you, then it is not a big deal. After our experience we switched and was taken much better care of. Just take it easy and put yourself on bed rest for a little bit, this will help to calm things down for you and to let things resolve.

If you want a 2nd opinion I would recommend talking to Dr. Koppelman in Aurora (he doesn't deliver anymore) but he may have some advice. His number is ###-###-####

Hi K.,

Congratulations on your new baby! I have heard of this happening and it generally dissolves on it's own. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but definitely keep an eye on it along with your doctor.

Hope that helps.

Truly,
J.

I have had them with prior pregnancies. I would suggest getting in with a high risk doctor. I have to take Lovenox when I'm pregnant for it. It's not too bad, and definitely worth having a healthy baby. Baby #3 is now almost 3 weeks old and she survived a possible blood clot in the umbilical cord thanks to the Lovenox. GL! I hope all is well.

I had a pretty serious bleeding episode with this baby at 10 weeks (my first pregnancy). There was a large clot in my uterus and I was really worried. However, she was active and obviously unaffected. I am 28 weeks now and the clot is gone and she is growing like crazy. Apparently bleeding can happen and not affect the baby at all. Sounds like you just had a minor bleeding episode.

I had this problem with my second boy. I started bleeding at about 8 weeks and rushed to the emergency room thinking I was having a miscarriage. I had an ultrasound done and everything was fine but I was told not to lift anything (which was hard with an 18 month old at home and lots of heavy lifting at my job as well) and basically put on bed rest. It happened again about 4 weeks later for longer that time, it was very scary. Eventually it was absorbed or all finally passed through. We now have a smiley, energetic 20 month old. Everything should be fine, I would definitely try to take it as easy as you can.

When I was about 10 weeks pregnant I started bleeding and they found a blood clot on an ultrasound. I rested for a few days and it passed through. I thought I was having a miscarriage also but the rest of the pregnancy went great and now I have a beautiful 11-month old. Try not to worry too much if possible because the worrying only stresses you and the baby out! Try to relax and take it easy for a while.

I had a blood clot in my uterus at 10 weeks. I had to go on bed rest for almost 12 weeks. Mine caused bright red bleeding bad enough that they thought I was having a miscarriage. They were really worried about mine due to the fact it was sitting on top of the placenta. I had to take a prenatal vitamin, additional folic acid and a baby aspirin and not do anything. No lifting, no meals, no laundry, I could get up to go to the restroom and shower. I also had to see a high risk doctor. I am now 36 weeks and the baby and I are both doing fine. The clot reabsorbed into my body somehow, which is what they were hoping for. All I can tell you is just be careful what you do until they decide if there is a clot and then follow their instructions closely. I know how hard it is with two little boys 'cause I also have 2 boys, expecting #3 boy. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. ____@____.com
