Hi,

I want to try my luck with WW....

I was thinking about going to a meeting, pay the weekly fee, get all the information (booklets and stuff) there and then do it from home....by myself....

Now my question is though....is it possible to only go to this 1 meeting (pay 1 time) and then never go back, or is there a requirement to go x amount of times ????

I really just want to go 1 (!!!) time and then do it on my own.....

Thanks !!!!!!!

Added....so do you get ALL the stuff you need at the 1st meeting or not....who knows ???

Added for Kristina M.....I don't want to spend all that money when I can do it on my own....I just want the materials and not spend anymore.....joining online costs too....do you know what I mean ?!?!

What can I do next?

WW works, and it's cheap compared to the other diet centers. Every diet works if you follow it. what works with WW is you must weigh in every week. WW is a great well rounded diet so you can eat out or in. Just commit and stick to something.

I just recently joined and LOVE the new program...I end up having a bunch of points left over! I actually recommend the monthly pass....I know that I do better knowing I am going to be weighed by someone else and the monthly pass is the cheapest with the best tools....you get for $10/week, unlimited meetings each week AND access to the online tools which are Phenomenal-you can take your OWN recipes, put in the ingredients and # of servings and it will give you the points for that recipe/serving....and if it's too many points, it gives you the option of substituting and will recalculate. Feel free to inbox me if you have more questions...I really love this program and I really hated the points program when they first started it years ago....also they do give you the all the info at the first meeting and the weekly meetings you get a little mini magazine about the topic.

I was not interested in the meetings. So I joined online. The online resource has everything you need in digital form that you would receive at a meeting. It is 17.99 a month and there was no sign up fee when I joined. My husband lost 100 lbs last year on WW and now that I have delivered my baby my goal is to lose 50.

Good luck.

you can go to one meeting and buy the kit. but you need the meetings at least for the first little bit to get going. it is really confusing if you don't have a good explanation. each week you get a little paper pamphlet that is what your discussing that week at the meeting. you won't be able to get all of those at one meeting. they are spread out over months. but you can buy the kit for like $50 it will have all the stuff you need to do it.

I got all of my stuff over the course of 4 weeks I believe. They didn't give me all the free stuff at one time, but maybe it's changed?

Edited...you can go weekly, but don't have to attend the meetings. When you check in is when they give you the free stuff for that week, after that you can just weigh in and leave. At least thats how it was when I did it.

I'm like you, I thought I didn't want to pay for WW, but I've been a member since September and am steadily loosing. To answer your question, in my opinion, you can do it alone, but it's easier and more successfull if you go to the meeting. If you try to do it the inexpensive route, here's what I think you need. 1st, go to the meetings for 1 month. You pay for 1 month at a time, so go ahead and go for 1 month. The materials you'll need are the dining out companion book, a calculator (weather you download one to your phone or you buy theirs), and probably some other books that have points values of foods. That's going to be an investment, but if you don't want to be a memeber, that's what you'll need to continue on your own b/c you won't be able to log into WW and look up how much that burger from Sonic was unless you either have the dining out companion or the calculator. Good luck!

Every person is different. Some people are focused and disciplined enough to do it alone, but most are not. Most people do better when they have some sort of accountability. I help coach people with their weight loss and fitness goals. I would be happy to give you more information about my program which can be as little as $2.99 a week if you are interested.

To achieve the best results with your weight loss be sure and add a good exercise program to your daily routine. Muscle = The fountain of Youth!

Good luck with your health and fitness goals!
