Have any of you tried WW? Have you done it online?

I've been signed up online for a couple months, but am finding myself recommitted to it. It worked great for me when I went to meetings....so I want to do it again. I don't have a lot to loose. Just 15 vanity pounds.

Any tips?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all of your great support. WW worked great the first time I did it...but I was totally committed. It is really nice to hear that you guys have liked doing it online. I don't have time for meetings right now, but I still want to have better control of my nutrition and my weight. THANKS FOR ALL OF THE ENCOURAGEMENT!!

Just saw this, sorry about the delay.
I used an online support group called www.sparkpeople.com a couple of years ago, it is absolutely free.
I lost 50 lbs in 4 months and have kept 40 of it off since. It is a really hood site. I wish I could get myself together to do it again, I could use another 50 off.

HI J.
I have been successful with a product called Slimplicity. Have lost 35 pounds and 2 sizes. No side effects and very tasty. Along with diet and exercise this really works.
Would love to tell you about it.

Hi J.!

I have used Weight Watchers Online and enjoyed it. I think for me, the use of the message boards was key. The tools are great too. When I started talking to folks who had similar goals, likes, dislikes, etc. then we could work together to meet our weight loss goals. I also liked that if I wanted to attend an actual meeting, than I could go to that too.

J., if you would like to have help with your weight loss, I'd be happy to help you. I'm an Independent Beachbody Coach. There is no charge for my service. Check out my blog at www.exercise2dayinfo.blogspot.com and my website at www.beachbodycoach.com/lkp24.

I know I am answering this late but just saw it! I love the online version. I was bad about going to the meetings when I did it years ago so I gave up. The online is GREAT! I lost 25 lbs in just under 4 months. I still have a ways to go but it really is simple. I suggest purchasing the books and the wonderful points calculator once you join. They have a fabulous online store where you can purchase these things for a great price. The message boards on the site are wonderful and the recipe section is very helpful! I would also suggest joining a WW Yahoo group for additional support/recipes.
Good luck!

I LOVE weight watchers. I lost my 35 lbs of baby fat there. I too used the online tools until I reached my goal weight, cause then I didn't have to pay anymore. I still go to meetings even though I'm pregnant (so I can make sure I gain my weight slower than I did last time). Honestly, going to meetings makes the biggest difference. Getting on that scale and holding yourself accountable to your leader and the friends you make there really helped me reach my goal. Also you always learn a few food tips too. I brought note cards with me so I could write down some new recipes to use the following week from all of their display books. 15 lbs is not vanity pounds. Its your weight loss goal and that is important! A few small tips that helped me was 1) drink your water 2) cut salt out of your diet 3) every bite counts. I really hope that you start back into weight watchers! I can't say enough good things about it!

YES! I am currently in Belgium for the summer while my husband works. I have found some UK WW meals here that are fantastic! I really love the flexibility of the program. I am not going to meetings because I don't speak French or Flemish. Is anyone interested in starting a Yahoo group to chat through our WW journey?

Good Luck J.!

As a registered dietitian who specializes in nutrition or exercise and weight management, I congratulate you all on your successes. I just want to point out that YOU worked (not Weight Watchers, sparkpeople.com, or whatever program you used).

People lose weight when they have the energy to take care of themselves and to consume fewer calories. There is no single program that emerges as "the best" way to lose weight. But we do know that people who lose weight tend to eat breakfast, eat lower fat foods, eat on a schedule (don't skip meals), and exercise.

A registered dietitian (RD) can offer you personalized guidance that can help you develop a food plan that you are willing to maintain for the rest of your life. To find a local RD, go to www.eatright.org and click on "FInd a Nutrition Expert". N.

I am currently doing WW online and as long as you are committed like doing the meetings it does work. They have great tips and ideas on the web and it is great that you can make your own recipes and it will tell you the points value. If you need someone to be a buddy on doing it or someone to talk to to stay with it let me know. I did meetings before and it worked after the birth of my second child but I have found the the online is a little more helpful and I love it. Wanting to lose 25-30lbs, I have 3 kids now and the weight from child #3 is not wanting to go away. Just started WW again a week ago

my first round with WW was right before my now 18 year old
was a glimmer in my eye, In fact made goal at the same time
we found out we were pregnant.I had to have a written statment from my OB to allow me to stay on the plan. It worked out well
to be more conscious of what I ate and to get the post partum
weight off.

I have managed to maintain with in 10-15 pounds of goal
over the years and then 3 years ago decided to get back on program. at that time we were in the midst of moving. so I didn't have time to think about food while decluttering 15 years of accumulation to get our house on the market. I maintained my weight up until a year ago. Last fall I joined Curves as I turned 50 in August. There is truth to the metabolism slowing. Curves has worked out well for me,along
\with watching my food indulgences.I am seeing a change. It also helps that I get a health insurance rebate monthly as long as I meet my visit quota that month. It pays half the dues.
So! I would recommend Curves or similar program. I wish I had looked into it my 2nd time thru WW. Those 15 vanity pounds
are what gets to be the hardest. the closer you are to goal.
I haven't done it online though. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!1

I started WW online in early August to lose about the same amount as you. My sister, Mom and two friends started at the same time. We are all thrilled with the results. I've lost 20 pounds in 3 months, and I have lost the least of my group. We all love the online program. I found it very easy to incorporate into my life with two small kids. And with the exception of the first week when I was getting the system figured out, I have never felt hungry. I couldn't possibly recommend it more. WW has changed my life and I plan to stay on the maintenance plan forever...its that easy and that effective!

I too have been on WW since April, and have lost about 25 lbs and two dress sizes, plus several inches. The value of the Flex-points plan is that it gives you a sense (overweight people seem to have lost that sense) of how much is "enough" and how much is "too much." It's about simple portion-control, but the flex plan has a 35 points' bank account that you can withdraw from during a week so you never have to feel deprived. You can budget points toward a celebration, etc. But mainly, it's the meetings and input from other struggling souls that keeps you accountable and mindful, inspired, and celebratory. It's like re-booting every week, forgetting the past, and getting on with it. Don't beat up on yourself if you blew it for a minute, and realize that this is a lifetime way of eating, not a diet. It works! Best wishes!

I've tried Weight Watchers (I too have about 15lbs of post baby to loose). I find it works well if I use the additional resource of www.sparkpeople.com. Sparkpeople has a place where you enter in your goals, the food you ate, and your exercise. Is a great addition to weight watchers.

I have been doing it on my own and loving it. Only been doing it for like 20 or so days. Lost a few inches but not much weight. You said you did it once before how long did it take you to loose some last time. I have a lot more to loose after my last baby. Good Luck!! :-)

Weight Watchers worked for me the first time I did it-it's a good program- I just got stuck in a rut of eating the same thing everyday. Oatmeal & fruit for breakfast- PBJ for lunch and chicken for dinner most nights.
Online didn't work for me because there was noone to hold me accountable :)_
Good luck!

I am currently doing WW. I go to the meetings but I also do all my tracking online. I think this is great b/c I am being held accountable at the meetings plus I get the benefits of the online tools. I've lost almost all of my baby weight from my second child. I have surprised myself on how dedicated to it I am.

I, too, am late in responding to this. I have the monthly pass, so I go to the meetings and use the online tools. I have lost 38 pounds since the end of March. I feel great, and, if I do say so myself, look great. I have 23 more pounds to lose. I use a lot of the Smart Ones dinners, but have started doing my own cooking. It's been a wonderful journey.
Last week, one of the members who attends the same meetings I do, made Lifetime. She lost 145 pounds, and looks amazing. If you saw her, you would wonder how her tiny frame could have carried nearly 300 pounds to begin with!

Hi J. - I started WW online back in June, and have lost 10 pounds so far. I just don't have time for the meetings. I love the online program. You track your intake, including your water. When the 3 month plan I signed on for is up, I plan on keeping it going.
good luck!

Hi! I am a frequent re-joiner. I have found that it ONLY works for me if I go to meetings. Online does not, but it's because I need to feel accountable to someone. It's a fabulous program, but you just have to find out how it works best for you.
Good luck!

Hello there J.....I just saw your message. I have struggled with extra weight for a long time now..I am 42years of age. I have tried MANY, MANY weight loss programs including WW, SFL, Herbal magic...pills...body wraps..you name it.....I've tried it.
The ONLY program that I have been successful with is a nutritional body cleanse which rids the body of toxins,, allowing the pounds and inches to be released naturally, without chemicals. The body protects itself and surrounds the toxins with fat and water.....keeping it there until it is cleansed and released.
I have lost 31lbs.and 38" in less than 4 months, my husband has released 43 lbs,, and my two adult daughters have lost almost 30 lbs and over 35" safely, without hunger.
LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT THE REBOUND- this is the key to losing weight FOR THE LAST TIME. I would love to tell you more.

I also love Weight Watchers. I started Weight Watchers again when my daughter was almost 6 months old. (I had joined about 3 months before I found out I was pregnant.) I have lost 50 pounds since Januaryand only have .2 pounds to go to reach my goal! I love the on line tools--tracking points on line, looking for recipes, etc. But I also like to attend the meetings for the added moral support. It is good for me to hear what works for other people, learn about products that others have found, simple changes I can make, etc. It also keeps me more accountable when I know that someone else is going to see how good or bad my week was. I often hear people say that they did really well with Weight Watchers until they stopped going to meetings. I would suggest trying to go to weekly meetings or at least a couple of times a month. I know I wouldn't have been as successful if I didn't attend meetings. Good luck!

I did weight watchers online last year and it was very successful. I lost almost 28 pounds and got back to my "pre-pregnancy" weight within about 4 months. My recommendation is to order their books that list all the points for each type and brand of food. I also ordered the one that gave points for menus served at many common restaraunts/fast food chains. I stuck to my daily points during the week and saved all my "extra" points to indulge a bit more on the weekend. I preferred to do it online because as a full-time working mom, I don't have much extra free time to go somewhere for weigh-ins. My family was very supportive (my husband got sick of eating "wraps" 2-3 times a week, but he lived through it). Since that time, I may have fluctuated 5 pounds, but have managed to maintain my weight. Anytime I think I may be starting to gain more, I simply start following the daily points again for a few weeks and I'm back to where I was. The trick is to stick with it...even when you're craving another slice of pizza. If you get hungry, you can munch on carrots or other vegetables all you want. It's certainly worth it when you look ahead to how great you'll look in a few months!!! Best of luck to you!

I love Weight Watchers! 18 months ago I lost 22lbs in 4 months...I attended meetings and got a ton of great support as well as recipes from my fellow meeting attenders. During my weight loss I found out I was pregnant. I will be honest, my daughter is 1 yrs old and I am just now getting back into the swing of things. I have that last 15lbs to loose as well. I have tried to do it alone since I know the weight watchers way--but I am finding I too need the meetings for support and accountability. I just can't seem to find the inner strength to do it on my own and online.

I hope this helps you and your journey, GOOD LUCK!
