Hi B.-Cup hooks have worked for me before, but you do have to play around with the tiebacks a little to get them to look the way you would like them to. The weight of the fabric also plays a factor in the final look.
I just bought some curtains for my bedroom and they came with coordinating fabric tiebacks that have a fabric hook on each end. I don't know how I should attach them to the wall or what to attach to the wall to hook the tieback onto. All I've seen in the stores are decorative things called holdbacks that are for holding the whole curtain back not just the edges of what I already have. Hope this makes sense so someone can help me figure it out. Thank you so much.

A small nail in the wall on each side of the window works great! You could also attach a decorative knob if you wished! Good Luck! Kati
I have used small cup hooks...screwed into the window frame...in the past...they dont show at all when the curtains are in place...and work well. Just be sure that you measure and get them in the same position on both sides. AS I recall you want the cup hooks openings facing OUT...so they hold the tie backs in place properly.
Hope this helps

B.,
I used coffee cup hooks for mine and they also come decorative if you like.
Good luck,

Hi. I seen you got lots of responses for the types of hooks. Another idea if you are not wanting to put holes in wall you can buy the plastic hooks that stick on. I can't remember the name brand but they advertize them usually around the holidays because they are easy to remove. They have a tab that you pull that releases the adhesive without leaving anything on your wall. I have had trouble with my 4 year old ripping the screw in hooks out of the walls so these work for me. Hope this helps.
Ps. You can get the hooks at WalMart
B., unfortunatly when you find this kind of thing it does not function the way it is intended. You can purchase decorative hooks and create a hook and eye situation for you tiebacks but they never seem to look just right. In a pinch I have sewn both ends together to make a loop that the curtains fit through and then push pinned the loop to the wall. It gives it a better look than using some of the hardware devices made for this type of thing. However my advice to you would be to scrap the fabric tie backs. If you really need soemthing to hold the curtains back there are several items on the market, in various price ranges. I hope this helps. www.sg.vpweb.com
Good Morning B., I hope I understand!! It's early still ;) What I have used as tie back hooks are the little screw in C hooks you can find at Wal-Mart or any hardware store. They leave a small hole only. Then just put your tie backs around your curtain and slip the loops on the C hook, arrange the draping part any way you want it to look.
Let me tell ya though the part I ALWAYS have trouble with is getting the C hooks on level... lol Even measuring I always seem to get one just a little higher or lower then the other :)
You could also pick up some of the press and stick hooks. The heads are a little wider but you don't have to make a hole or try to get through the edge of the window frame.
I hope I understood and was a little bit of help
Have a Blessed SONday

Hi there! In the hardware dept. there are these little metel rings with a screw on the end to screw into a wall...with the circle sticking out. You can then hook the hooks into the circle ring. They come in various sizes, so you can hide them behind the curtain if desired. Hope this helps.
you can use I think they are called mug holders. ( like coffee mugs)they are little and can't be seen that easy. you can get them at walmart and don't cost very much
The tie backs all you need are hook screws (they're like hook & eye screws only they don't have the loopy thingie just the hook) The curtains themselves, it really depends on how you want to have them displayed. If its a curtain that has a solid sheath (the thing you stick the rod through) I would just use a spring curtain rod. If the curtains are heavier or have the loop style hangers or whatever they're called they have decorative curtain rods & sconces that are drilled right into the wall & the rods rest on the 'arms' of the curtain sconces. I really hope that made sense and that it helps. Good luck.
My recommendation is just to buy a package of teacup holders (pkg of little hooks about $2 for 8-10)...they do the same thing and if your 2 1/2 gets a hold of them and rips them out...it doesn't do as much damage as the fancy smancy curtain tie backs ($10+/ea)....and of course, I'm speaking from experience here...LOL...L.
If the tiebacks have a little grommet circle in them, then you need to buy small cup hooks at the hardware store. You screw them into the window frame and hook the tiebacks right on the cup hook. Makes it a lot easier than thumb tacks or something like that.
Good morning B.,
I would say just get a decorative hook at a home improvement store. The size of the hook would depend on what weight the fabric is. If the curtains are lightweight, you might be able to just use a cup hook, but if they are heavier, you may need a heavier weight hook. As for where to attach them, if they are small enough, you may be able to just put them in the edge of the wood trim on the window. Hope you are able to figure something out so you can enjoy your new curtains!!
I use small hooks (find in hardware dept in most stores -even Walmart). The hooks have a screw part on the one end that you screw into the wall or window frame/trim. They are not big at all (maybe an inch long?) and not expensive.
Hi B.,
All you need to do is go to Walmart or your nearest hardware store and ask them for coffee cup hooks.
There are different sizes, but the all just screw into the wall and your tie back rings will slide right on to the hooks.
Good luck

Use a cup hook to attach the tie back to the wall. The fabric hook will just loop right over the cup hook. You can find them in the hardware section at Target or Walmart or any home improvement store. They're usually located where coat hooks and other hooks are located. I've also used little nails before, too.
Good luck!
I'm exactly clear on what the tiebacks look like, but if the larger loop won't pull through a standard metal tieback, I would suggest getting some small cup hooks in whatever color you want (or paint them your wall color) and use these to hold the small fabric loops.
In the hardware isle of Walmart or a hardware store, they sell cup hooks. They are small and screw into the wall and you can attach your fabric to it. They have a screw piece that goes into the wall and a C shaped piece of metal attached to the screw. In my mothers generation, they used these to hang coffee cups from.
