Has anyone had their child attend Willett Elementary in Attleboro? Most families in my neighborhood attend Foxboro Charter, but we are 80-something on the waitlist so I doubt my son will get in this year, he will be in kindergarten. Willet is our school. I just would like to know how well the education is. Thanks so much :)

hi, my son attended the pm kindergarten program at willet and loved it. although the 2 1/2 hour session in the middle of the day is sometimes tough....the school itself is great. they are very family oriented and have lots of family night and programs for the kids. my son is now 1st and thriving...
on a side note..when you become a sahm... there is a great group called the MOM's Club of Attleboro,/www.momsclub.org/ they are a great support group us mom with playgroups (lots of 2 1/2 y/o) and for the older kids as well. we have outings during the day and once a month we have a mom's night out...which have incl. movies, appetizers/drinks at ruby tuesdays, massages/pedicures, and night of indulgence with chocolate and facials. it's a great group of women who love to chat and help each other out. please feel free to contact me @ ____@____.com if you have any ??s.

Hi,
I know that all levels of education are important, and while I don't know much about Willet specifically, your child is entering kindergarten. If you are intent on getting your child into FRCS, keep him on the waitlist, even if he is in the 80's. Some people won't move their children mid-year once openings become available, and there will be first grade openings, and by them sometimes families have decided that they are settled where they are. All I can say is ask questions. Keep up with what is going on with the curriculum and what is going on with your child developmentally. You are your child's best advocate no matter how good the school system.
Good Luck!

Hi,

My son is currently enrolled in PM Kindergarten at Willett. I am very pleased with his progress. His teacher and other staff are great. They keep me well informed and commumication is very good. The amount of acedemic work they do is impressive for that age group...reading, math and telling time ect.
I have a 3 1/2 year old and 2 year old who, unless we move, will be attending Willett. They are talking about making Kindergarten full day, and I think the pros outweight the cons.
Just a few thoughts...

Hope this helps,
M.
