Preschool in Dublin

My daughter will be 3 next September. She is currently being watched everyday by my mom. I am interested in putting her in preschool next year so that she can have some interaction on a regular basis with other kids. Are there are any recommendations of preschools in Dublin? I have tried looking all over the internet and I haven't found any sites that review preschools. At this time, I'm planning on her attending preschool for 3 years since she has an early fall birthday. I'm not sure when enrollment is but I thought I should start gathering information. Thanks for any recommendations you can provide!

What can I do next?

After having worked in early childhood education for years I would have to recommend Tutor Time. There is no daycare out there that comes close to the facilities, curriculum, and quality of staff. I'd definitely recommend going and taking a tour of one of their centers while out visiting others. Even without my years of experience, you'll be able to see they are head and shoulders above the others.

You are smart to research now as most preschools start registration in January! Be sure to find out when then are. If you miss their dates you will often only make the "waitlist". Check out Northwest Presbyterian Christian Academy on Post Rd in Dublin. My son went to 2 yrs of mom's day out there as well as 2 yrs of preschool. we had a wonderful experience there. Then when my son started K in Dublin, he attended 2 afternoons of K-enrichment at Little Shepherds Preschool. Also, a wonderful experience. My older daughter attended Dublin Community Preschool 7 years ago and we were satisfied with her experiences there. Best of luck to you!

Naeyc is the agency that accredite child care facilities. The state only gives them a license to operate. You can also check out the "Step up to quality" website.

Hi J. - There are any good preschools in Dublin. My daughter currently goes to the program offered through Dublin City Schools at Bailey Elementary. It's also available in 5 other elementary schools. It is a peer program and she serves as a peer for developmentally delayed children. It's a great program and very affordable. You have to be evaluated to gain entry. If that's not your cup of tea, we also had a good experience at Little Shepherds at Prince of Peach Lutheran. I also have many friends that love St. John's, Indian Run and Dublin Community Preschool (at the Dublin Comm. Church). I hope this helps.

Hey J.!

My son is at the Primrose School of Dublin (between Perimeter and Post). He is my second son to attend there. They do have a web page that you can check out. I really like their curriculum and the school is run very well. My son turned 4 in Sept., and is also within the cut-off for early kindergarten enrollment. Primrose does the Bracken assessments (a national standardized assessment) and have parent/teacher conferences in the Pre-K classes. I'm going to send my son to kindergarten next year if he is academically and socially ready. So, I like that they evaluate the children thoroughly and are able to give me a pretty good idea of how he'll do if I do send him to school next year.

Good luck with your search!

There is a great preschool in Dublin at the Prince of Peace Lutheren Church. It's called Little Shepeards Preschool. We've used it for two of our three children and will be registering our third this for next fall.

Both my girls were very well prepared for K.

Enjoy,

We are going to the Gardner School on Emerald Parkway. My daughter is only 10 months, but the things we liked about the school were for the older kids: they have a covered, heated outdoor space so the kids can get outside nearly every day, they have a cafeteria so they go there for their meals, they have additional programs for language, dance, arts, etc. Good luck in your search!

Our son also goes to Little Shepards Preschool at Prince of Peace. The teachers are wonderful, very patient and they have a very nice program for the kids. He loves it! He will be 3 in December and started going in september with the other 2 1/2 year olds and is doing great.
