I like Kiwi (www.kiwiservices.com). I've used them for many years and I like the 1-year warranty where they'll come back throughout the year for a low fee.

We also like Doug's MightyClean -- he was recommended by our realtor and does many of her client's homes. They also clean air ducts.

I just had my carpets cleaned and protected by Fiber-Seal. I, too, tried Kiwi and they just dumped chemicals on my carpets. Fiber-Seal cleans primarily with super-hot water, and only uses soaps to get the spots out. Apparently it's the soap that causes the dirt to go right back to the original spot, as it leaves a sticky residue. That's why Kiwi stays in business. Plus, Fiber-Seal will come back for a year w/ no charge if you use their protective treatment. And they have a van that has their logo on it, so you know who is coming to the house!

I know you are wanting to treat yourself cleaning & shampooing carpet is hard work.... but if you are use to doing it yourself you might not like getting your carpet cleaned professionaly. I do my carpet myself because of how bad my carpet looks after some "professional" cleans it. Here is my trick do not use any chemicals in your steam cleaner fill it with hot water and 1 drop of hand soap, let your steam cleaner get really hot before you start.. your carpets will look amazing. Most carpet cleaning companies use chemicals or heavy soap that make the spots and stains keep coming back. The hand soap trick really works.

I do it myselt primarily with my Bissel Pro Heat.

In the event of having someone come in, I have no favorite. I have used Kiwi and NO don't like them, Stanley Steemer and NO, don't like them. The ONLY one to come to my home more than once was Dalworth and I am not THAT crazy about them. The reason I am not crazy about Dalworth is that I was watching for a Dalworth van to come and then some plain white van showed up. I called Dalwaorth before I let him in and I was told that he is a contract worker for Dalworth. He did a good job, I am not complaining about that, I just prefer to know who is coming to my door.

Simply Clean does a great job and the owner is a super guy the number is ###-###-####. He even came out three days after cleaning the carpets and did some spot removal because my dog had surgery and bled on them. They recently changed their company name because his son has Angelmans disease (I think that is what it is called) and the company now contributes to the research so they may answer with something else.
