No, I'm watching and I like what I am seeing and hearing.
Meanwhile-did you see Sen Marco Rubio/Clint Eastwood? Hell- to -the -yea!
Are you watching the Republican convention and/or do you plan on watching the Democratic convention? I'm not asking your political views or who you think should be the next president but if you are watching the events. Do you think the conventions are necessary? Do you think anything you hear during them will sway your vote? I have been watching because I can honestly say I haven't made up my mind!
What is strange is that I have ALWAYS connected more with the wife of the President more than the President. I liked Nancy better than Ronald, the Bush women better than both Georges, Hillary more than Bill and now Michelle more than Barack!!
So, am I the only one watching??
No, I'm watching and I like what I am seeing and hearing.

We watch both every election, including local/state elections. I feel it's important to be informed on both sides. The commercials, I will fast forward or mute, but the conventions and the debates are always on.. in fact, it's on right now! :) We encourage our children to watch the most important parts of them and quite often the debates. I will not be changing my affiliation, but I do like to watch both. Our family (girls: 13 and 9, son 4) and my hubby and I actually discuss what's going on. They (the girls) are very inquisitive and ask great questions!
That was a good post. As for liking the wife more than the president, well, in some cases, yes, others, not so much. I didn't care for Hillary more, but I did like L. Bush a lot.
Watched and I'm excited! I like the republican ticket especially with Paul Ryan. I do like watching the wives. Can't stand Michelle Obama she just comes across as mean and entitled. Yuck!!! I liked Laura Bush. She reminded me of my mom!!
Yes, of course I am watching and will also watch the Dems. Funny how others think those of us who watch are dumb and don't get info from other sources! Would hate to be so closed minded.
I agree with you about the wives!
Condoleeza Rice's speech was awesome!
I've been listening to the GOP "convention"....I will most likely listen to the DNC one as well...I am NOT waiting with bated breath for ANY candidate or speaker to make me change my mind....we have sucky candidates to choose from...it's the lesser of two evils...
As for what the "left" is waiting for? Anyone who has been paying attention, would have heard it - the "right" has said it before - the country is constipated and Obama is the blockage...so we will be giving the country and enema and remove the blockage!! :)
I'm still waiting on Obama to DO SOMETHING...other than spend more or our money.....
I get what you are saying about the wives with the exception of Michelle Obama...I don't like her. For me - it all started with her "finally proud to be an American" line...that just has not set well with me for the last 5 years....
I'm sorry you haven't been able to make a choice....i know the candidates suck....but like Artur Davis said in his speech...

Make your vote count!!!
Yes, I have watched every convention of both parties since the 2000 election (the first year I was able to vote).
I do connect more with the wives than their husbands, because, honestly, I already know what the candidates are going to say. I've been paying attention to politics since I was a child. I like having the personal touch from the wife's perspective, as well as listening to other party leaders who may not get much attention in the national spotlight until the convention.
How could these sway anyone's vote? Much of what's being said are rehearsed and filled of empty lyrics and lies; we as moms should well know the power of manipulation and know that it's worth checking the facts. My biggest concerns are how morality and genuineity have completely been erased from the political stage. I'm not sure when these people are just acting for election or presenting his or her authentic self. I see a lot of movies, brilliant acting and cute people in hollywood already -they're for entertainment purposes; I do not need these same characteristics in my leaders. Hence, I truly believe, conventions are the biggest infomercial that are not truthfully informative and objective; true awareness of what's happening in our world and immediate environment would help in how you view a candidate's actual plan for this country's future. I believe in honesty and forgiveness. Most importantly, I'd rather be at my boys' football game and spending some time together. I'm a survival and a mompreneur.
Ya know, if I want someone to blow sunshine up my butt I will go buy a new car. So no, don't watch them. I look up the relevant points later, so much more efficient. :)
I've watched the GOP convention on and off.
I was hoping to see some mention of a plan from the Republicans...but I guess that's coming later....after Romney accepts the nomination....the suspense is killing me!
No, can't say that I do watch. So much blatant lying going on right now. I look up the information that is important and get the real facts, not sound bites.
I can think of a million more better things to be spending money on then holding these conventions. I think they are a waste of money.
I should be watching, but I just can't. It is a complete waste of my time. I prefer reading the salient points from several trusted sources. :)
& shame on me: I should be watching. My Mom is in Tampa, working the convention....& loving it. Dang proud of her. :)
Loving it and love Ann
Can't wait for the Dems, it's a great circus act, I will even make popcorn & maybe throw in some cotton candy...especially can't wait for Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz, loved watching her get blasted by Wolf & Anderson, that was a dream that I never thought would happen, they actually called her out on her lies :), that's a first!.......now if they would only do that on all the rest, maybe we could get America back
I am watching right now! Can't you tell how "tuned in" I am?
Pure entertainment value. I like critiqueing the speech writer who is really the voice of the candidate(s) who don't have one of their own!
Oh, and one more thing: My body. My rights!
I don't watch either one of them. I think that they only cater to the people who are already on their side. I do get tired of the name calling from each side also. Do your own homework and decide who sets best with your needs and vision.
No and I don't plan on it. I'm not interested really and I haven't been watching a lot of tv lately.
