I am looking for a preschool for my soon to be 3 year old. I have no idea where to even start. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Collaborative for Children is an organization that can help you find qualified childcare to meet your specific needs. They helped me find Montessori Learning Institute (Hilcroft and Beechnut) for my twins a few years back. I had a great experience there - affordable Montessori learning with hours that fit my schedule. Of course my data is out of date so do your homework. Hope that helps!

check out The Meadows @ Willow Meadows Baptist Church - ask for Cyndi Wehmeyer. My now 7-year old went through their pre-school program & we enjoyed the teachers & atmosphere immensely.

Take a look at St. Paul's School on Main Street. Wonderful, acredited pre-school affiliated with St. Paul's United Methodist Church. One of the oldest pre-schools in Houston and goes through K. Worth the drive...don't be discouraged if they have a wait list. Schedule a tour. All four of my children attended and tested beautifully into a private school. Loving and nurturing environment...call Debra Fisher, the director.

Across the street is Presbyterian School. There are also several programs in the West U area...West U Methodist, for example.

The applications are generally due in the Spring of the year prior to the year of enrollment. Start touring the schools now.

Bertha Alyce Center, attached to the Jewish Community Center. I've had 3 kids go through there, and I'd send anyone who asks! It's a wonderful place. Speak with Jan, the director.
