Post Potty Training

My 4 yr old daughter has been potty trained for some time. She has been wearing a Pull Up to bed, however, she has woke up dry for months. I was planning on transitioning her to underwear at night. I was thinking about putting down some sort of absorbant pad on the mattress for "just in case." I was wondering if other moms did this. Where did you purchase this? I know the medical supply store has them (more for incontinent adults?), but didn't know if this was something WalMart or the pharmacy would carry. Or, do you have an alternate suggestion to this. Thank you so much for response.

What can I do next?

MY MIL bought one for the bed my kids use at Home Goods for $20. My almost 4 yo daughter has been potty trained for some time too but has accidents at night (too often!) occasionally. Sometimes none for a month then sometimes 3 in a week! Put pull ups on on top of her underwear, so she feels it if she pees but does not make a mess in the bed, just a suggestion.

I bought a waterproof mattress pad at target. Looks like a regular mattress pad, but waterproof.

The smells that off-gas from new plastics and vinyl are actually rather toxic, so I got my grandson a very dense wool pad that is highly water resisant. They're not cheap but they last years, and if it's every necessary, they can be rinsed of and hung up to dry.

I bought a super absorbant, waterproof backed pad at onestepahead.com when I was pregnant (didn't want a ruined mattress if my water broke). It's great! Spilled a big cup of water in the bed one night by accident and it drank up all 32 oz.

You can get a rubber sheet at walmart, it's not absorbant, but it will keep the mattress dry. You can also get soft rubber sheeting from Jo-Ann Fabrics. 1 yard of that will keep the mattress dry, and won't feel like a plastic bag. We alternate between the two. Best of luck!

In any baby supply section at Target, WalMart, etc, they sell small waterproof pads (washable) that you can put under the sheet.
